RIP OREGON, in memory of a great strong soul that touched hundreds of hearts.
He was born in Poland sold as a riding school horse first to the east side of Italy, and then to the west side of Italy, where I met him.
He was 26-27 years old and came to us AWL as retirement horse. After a while Oregon decided retirement was nothing for him. He continued being young in his mind 🤡and heart, dragging me around like a glove.🤠
Him and I bonded 🫶 and he always lived the days to constantly joke with me. Sometimes rough, like I was an American football you just tackle around 😅

A couple of weeks ago he and his best friend Sunshine, moved to another stable. Green pastures and outside during the days. Sunshine guided him around and stayed by his side, as the good friend he always was.

Oregon had started to have more difficulty standing on his three legs while picking his hooves, or going to the blacksmith. He put his weight on you, and it was heavy as you can imagine supporting that big horse. 😃

One Sunday morning, you didn’t get up Oregon. Your legs didn’t want to. Your mind strong as ever wanted and you were fighting to get up. Veterinarian and stable friends were there, and we all tried to help you. Devastated, I had to make the decision to let you go.
It still hurts so badly. Every day when I pass your box I feel you, but I don’t see you.

Grieving has no time, memories has no time. One day at the time, with smiles and tears.
