The group exhibition “Soul Food”, curated by Irene Alison and Paolo Cagnacci, will be on view until July 16 at Rifugio Digitale in Florence, Italy.

Food is not merely nourishment. It is language, power, identity and, increasingly, a battleground on which our sustainability as a species is being tested. The group exhibition Soul Food explores—within the broader investigation that Rifugio Digitale is dedicating this year to the phenomenon of overconsumption—the visceral, and at times distorted, relationship contemporary humanity has with edible matter, moving along the fine line that separates abundance from excess.

Through the lens of international artists Lisa Sorgini Claire Rosen anh nguyen Lucia Buricelli Fred Mungo
the exhibition does not seek to provide definitive answers, but rather to provoke reflection. From the polished perfection of food p**n imagery to the raw reality of reuse and waste, these works ask us a fundamental question: are we still capable of valuing what keeps us alive?

The photographic narrative unfolds in three key chapters, inviting viewers to look “beyond the plate.”

Food as Identity
We are what we eat, but also how we eat. This section explores the ways in which food defines geographical boundaries, social classes, and cultural and family affiliations.

Food as Ritual
The second chapter celebrates the spiritual, symbolic, and communal dimensions of food, capturing the gestures and sense of sacredness that surround the act of eating—from a biological necessity to a transcendent collective experience.

Food as Excess
This section investigates abundance when it becomes waste, and consumption when it turns into alienation, within a system that produces more than it can consume. It is the concluding chapter of the exhibition, inviting visitors to reflect on the sustainability of our desires and on the shadows cast by our lavishly set tables.

🇺🇸 Chosen in 1782 as the emblem of the United States, the bald eagle has come to represent strength and freedom. While the decision was not without debate, its remarkable presence and soaring flight made it a fitting symbol for a young nation.

By the mid-20th century, bald eagle populations had fallen dramatically because of habitat loss, hunting, and the widespread use of DDT. Through decades of conservation and habitat protection, the species made one of the greatest wildlife recoveries in American history. In 2007, the bald eagle was removed from the U.S. endangered species list, though it continues to be protected under federal law.

Every encounter with one still feels extraordinary and serves as a reminder that conservation works when people choose to protect what matters. 🇺🇸

The exhibition transformed the Crane Arts Icebox Gallery into a series of vignettes where goats became collaborators, muses, and unexpected performance artists. From The Goat Feast to the Goat Art Studio, the evening explored the intersections of art, imagination, and our relationship with animals.

The evening will feature 21 goat portraits, alongside a large-scale Fantastic Goat Feast created in collaboration with the beloved goats of for .

A Gathering of Goats will transform the Icebox at into a surreal, immersive exhibition by Claire Rosen. The evening invites guests into a series of whimsical vignettes where the goat herd from the become collaborators, muses, and unexpected performance artists.

Throughout the evening, guests will wander through interactive installations, including The Goat Feast—a pastoral tableau where goats enjoy an opulent banquet—and The Goat Art Studio, where goats “create” original works of art. Curated photo sets will offer opportunities to capture memorable moments with these charming animals, while guests sip Caprini-tinis and enjoy goat-inspired canapés.

Beneath the spectacle, A Gathering of Goats supports the mission of the , which provides education, wellness, community engagement, and therapeutic programming through human-animal connection. And the work of a Philadelphia-based arts organization providing access to the Philadelphia region’s contemporary visual arts culture.

Some glimpses from yesterday’s opening for the Chester County Studio Tour at Warwick Furnace Farm. The tour continues today from 11–5 PM and is the final day to visit.

Come explore the artist studios, wander the farm store, enjoy a slice of cake (not to be missed), and speak with our artists in residence about the projects unfolding on the farm.

On view in the main gallery is The Sweet Table the beginning of an artistic collaboration between mother and daughter, and . The series captures Dolly’s elaborate confections — artworks in their own right —  through Claire’s photographic lens, drawing upon the visual language of Dutch still life painting. Like the paintings that inspire them, the images move beyond beauty to explore appetite, inspiration, and the ways we nourish one another.

At its surface, the work delights in abundance and artistry: plentiful cakes, elaborate chocolate baskets, colorful jellies, and luminous tablescapes painstakingly arranged. Yet beneath the seduction of the images, the series examines nourishment — both literal and metaphysical — of motherhood and artistic inheritance.

We welcome you to the farm for the final day of the tour.

I’m so pleased to share my larger-than-life Birds of a Feather book, now installed at Festival 2026.

I have been dreaming of creating a book at this scale for years, and I’m deeply grateful to Laura, Sam, Dave, and the entire team for helping bring this vision into reality.

It feels especially meaningful as the birds were first exhibited on the Photoville fence in 2013, an early experience that gave me the confidence and visibility to develop this project.

This spring marks 15 years of visual storytelling with a 85+ public art exhibitions in all 5 boroughs of NYC, walking tours, panels, workshops, and IRL & online public programming throughout May!
