LoP J&K Assembly Sh. Sunil Sharma Meets Union Home Minister Sh. Amit Shah; Discusses Security, Development and Political Situation in J&K

New Delhi, 7 June 2026: Leader of Opposition in the Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly Sh. Sunil Sharma today met Union Home Minister Sh. Amit Shah in New Delhi and held an extensive discussion on various issues concerning the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.

During the meeting, detailed deliberations were held on the prevailing security scenario, law and order situation, developmental initiatives, and the overall political landscape of Jammu & Kashmir. Sh. Sunil Sharma apprised the Union Home Minister of various issues and concerns emerging from the ground and highlighted the aspirations of the people regarding peace, progress, and effective governance.

The meeting also reviewed the ongoing efforts of the Government of India to strengthen security, promote inclusive development, and deepen democratic institutions at the grassroots level. Both leaders emphasized the need to further consolidate the gains achieved in recent years and ensure that the benefits of development reach every section of society.

Union Home Minister Sh. Amit Shah gave a patient hearing to the issues raised by Sh. Sunil Sharma and assured him that the Government of India, under the leadership of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, remains fully committed to ensuring lasting peace, strengthening security, accelerating development, and safeguarding the interests of the people of Jammu & Kashmir. He reiterated that all necessary support would continue to be extended for the overall progress and prosperity of the Union Territory.

Sh. Sunil Sharma reiterated the Bharatiya Janata Party’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the interests of the people of Jammu & Kashmir and working tirelessly for lasting peace, prosperity, and progress in the Union Territory. He said that under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi and the guidance of Union Home Minister Sh. Amit Shah, Jammu & Kashmir has witnessed a new era of development, transparency, and empowerment.

Three-Week 7th Summer Cricket Coaching Camp Inaugurated at Parade Ground, Jammu

Jammu, June 2026: The three-week 7th Summer Cricket Coaching Camp for young boys and girls was inaugurated today at Parade Ground, Jammu, by senior J&K Ranji Trophy cricketer Randhir Singh Jamwal.

The camp is being supervised by senior Ranji Trophy cricketer Harsh Nayyar, who is serving as the Chief Organizer. The coaching team comprises Rohit Bhat, Randhir Singh Jamwal, and Vikram Dogra. Former J&K Ranji Trophy captain Sanjay Sharma will also share his expertise and guidance with the participants.

The camp is being organized with the support of senior cricketers Kapil Dev Mahajan, Pawan Gupta, and Rajesh Jaitly, while Vikram Singh Bhadwal and Divender Sharma are serving as organizers.

Young boys and girls participating in the camp will be assessed based on their interest and abilities in batting, bowling, and wicket-keeping. Accordingly, specialized coaching will be provided to help them develop their cricketing skills. In addition to practical training, senior and experienced cricketers will deliver lectures on the technical aspects of the game. Fielding and physical fitness will be key components of the camp curriculum.

The participants will also be introduced to Yoga and Meditation techniques aimed at improving concentration, mental strength, and overall fitness.

Parade Sports Association and Laxmi Cricket Club, both registered with the Registrar of Societies, J&K, continue to work dedicatedly for the promotion and development of cricket in the Union Territory. During its recent Annual General Body Meeting, Parade Sports Association unanimously decided that Kapil Dev Mahajan would take over the responsibilities of Chairman following the resignation of Desh Rattan Dubey, who has since been elected Vice President of Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association.

Similarly, during the Annual General Body Meeting of Laxmi Cricket Club, Rohit Bhat was unanimously elected as Captain-cum-Secretary of the club and will oversee regular cricket practice sessions, participation in tournaments, and coaching camps. It was also unanimously decided to relieve Ashok Gupta from the post of Vice-President as he expressed his unwillingness to continue.

Speaking on the occasion, Sanjay Sharma praised the efforts of Parade Sports Association and Laxmi Cricket Club for providing free coaching and opportunities to aspiring cricketers. He emphasized that such initiatives play a vital role in identifying and nurturing hidden talent and expressed confidence in the success of the camp. He also highlighted the importance of sports in steering youth away from the menace of drug abuse and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Yudhvir Sethi inaugurates tile-laying work at GHSS Jhulaka Mohalla in Jammu East
JAMMU, Jun 6: Continuing his efforts to strengthen educational infrastructure in Jammu East, MLA Jammu East Yudhvir Sethi on Saturday inaugurated the tile-laying work with the estimated cost of Rs 8.30 lakh at Government Higher Secondary School, Jhulaka Mohalla, Ward No. 2.
The development project is being executed by the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) with the objective of improving the school premises and providing a safer and more conducive environment for students.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by local residents, school staff, students, and BJP workers. Among those present were Romesh Lal Gupta Principal GHSS Julaka Mohalla, Preeti Sharma Mahila Morcha East Mandal President, Ajesh Sharma Ward Sanjoyak, Romesh Gupta, Sashikant Sapolia, Sheikh Faiz, Ravinder Bania, Ram Krishan Bakshi, Feroz Khan, Sameer Dalgotra, Bindu Sharma, Sneha Sharma, Sita Devi, Usha Sharma, Veena, Sushma, Nepun Malhotra and others.
Speaking on the occasion, Yudhvir Sethi said that quality education requires not only dedicated teachers and modern learning methods but also proper infrastructure that ensures the comfort and safety of students. He said the tile-laying work would improve the overall appearance of the school campus and make it more student-friendly.
“Educational institutions are the foundation of a progressive society. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that students have access to clean, safe, and well-maintained surroundings. The development of school infrastructure remains one of my top priorities, and every effort will be made to provide better facilities to our children,” Sethi said.
The MLA emphasized that the Jammu administration is committed to upgrading public infrastructure and addressing the needs of educational institutions across Jammu East. He said that various developmental works are being undertaken in the constituency to improve civic amenities and enhance the quality of life of residents.
Sethi also interacted with school authorities and local residents and assured them that genuine issues concerning the area would be addressed on priority. He urged students to focus on their studies and make full use of the facilities being created for their benefit.
The school management expressed gratitude to the MLA and the Jammu Municipal Corporation for initiating the project, stating that the improvement would contribute significantly to creating a better educational atmosphere for students.
