TCI MAX Cement signs MoU with ITI Pampore to support 100 students with scholarships, financial aid
Srinagar, July 23: Trumboo Industries Pvt. Ltd. (TCI MAX Cement) on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Pampore, to provide scholarships and financial assistance to meritorious and economically weaker students from areas adjoining the TCI MAX Cement Plant.
The MoU was signed by the Director of Trumboo Industries Pvt. Ltd. and the Superintendent of Government ITI Pampore at a function held at Hotel Four Points by Sheraton, Sonwar, Srinagar.
The agreement has initially been signed for two years, under which 100 students will receive financial assistance towards admission fees, books, uniforms, travel expenses, and other educational requirements while pursuing skill-based vocational training at Government ITI Pampore.
Subject to the successful outcome of the programme and mutual consent of both parties, the collaboration may be extended for a further period of up to five years, enabling more deserving students to benefit from the initiative.
MLA Pampore and former High Court judge, Justice (Retd.) Hasnain Masoodi, attended the ceremony as the chief guest.
Officers of Government ITI Pampore, representatives of Trumboo Industries Pvt. Ltd. and other distinguished guests were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Justice (Retd.) Hasnain Masoodi appreciated the initiative and emphasised the importance of industry-academia collaboration in creating meaningful opportunities for young people.
He said such partnerships play a vital role in equipping youth with practical skills and preparing them for gainful employment.
The Superintendent of Government ITI Pampore highlighted the wide range of vocational courses offered by the institute and expressed confidence that the collaboration with Trumboo Industries Pvt. Ltd. would encourage more students from nearby areas to acquire technical skills and become self-reliant.
Earlier, the Director of Trumboo Industries reiterated the company's commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and said sustainable industrial growth must go hand in hand with the development of the local community.
The company said the initiative aims to ensure that deserving students are not deprived of quality vocational education because of financial constraints.
Under the MoU, eligible students residing in areas adjoining the TCI MAX Cement Plant will receive financial assistance to pursue skill-based vocational courses at Government ITI Pampore.
The initiative is expected to enhance employability among local youth, encourage technical education, and contribute to the socio-economic development of the region.
The event concluded with the formal exchange of the signed MoU and a vote of thanks, marking the beginning of a collaborative effort to strengthen skill development and support the aspirations of local youth through education and vocational training.
