Theft Reported at Uditnagar Jagannath Temple, Rourkela

A shocking incident has come to light from Uditnagar Jagannath Temple, where an unidentified miscreant allegedly broke open the temple's donation box (hundi) and stole cash estimated to be around ₹30k.

The entire incident was reportedly captured on CCTV cameras installed inside the temple premises. Police have launched an investigation and are examining the footage to identify and apprehend the accused.

The theft has sparked concern among devotees and local residents, who have demanded strict action against those involved.

Today morning, the Rourkela Shines team had a chance encounter with an inspiring citizen on the Panposh–Chhend Road.

Manoj Kumar Sahoo, a resident of Mani Colony, Panposh, and an employee of a private company, was seen filling potholes along with his nephew Jeet Bahan. What makes this effort remarkable is that all the expenses for cement, sand, and chips are borne by them personally.

When our team member asked why he spends his own money and free time on this work, Manoj simply replied, "Bhai, this is my small contribution to society."

No publicity. No expectations. Just a genuine desire to make Rourkela's roads safer for everyone.

A major step towards better traffic management in Civil Township!

A new public parking lot is being developed to provide citizens with a safe, organized, and convenient parking facility. The project aims to eliminate illegal roadside parking, reduce traffic congestion, and improve the overall commuting experience in the area.

The parking lot is expected to open to the public very soon, bringing much-needed relief to residents, visitors, and daily commuters.
