The ancient yogis were not searching for self-improvement.
They were searching for dissolution.
Many of the practices they left us , mantra, meditation, Nada Yoga, silence , were never meant to help us “perform better” in life.
They were pathways into stillness.
Into absorption.
Into direct experience beyond the constant activity of the mind.
In Nada Yoga, sound becomes a doorway.
Not something to control or analyse,
but something to completely merge with.
For a few moments, listening becomes so deep
that the separate self begins to soften.
In the non-dual traditions of India, this state of absorption is known as samadhi:
the recognition that separation was never truly there.
✨Join our Nada Yoga workshop Immersions in October & November (20–28-2026.)

That’s a beautiful chant—simple, rhythmic, and deeply rooted in devotion.
“Hare Ram… Sita Ram…” is often repeated as a form of japa (meditative chanting), invoking peace, devotion, and connection with the divine. The repetition itself is calming—it helps steady the mind and can bring a sense of grounding and clarity.

Singing in a group can release emotions—joy, devotion, even sadness—and replace them with feelings of love, gratitude, and surrender.
Kirtan is often done in groups (like in temples or satsangs), creating unity and shared spiritual energy. It breaks social barriers and brings people together.
Repeating sacred words helps focus the mind, making it easier to meditate and stay present.
The music, rhythm, and collective singing can boost positivity and create a joyful atmosphere.
In short, kirtan is important because it blends music, devotion, and meditation into one powerful practice that nurtures both the heart and mind.

Kirtan (also spelled Kirtana) is a devotional practice rooted in the Indian spiritual tradition, especially within Hinduism.
Kirtan is a form of call-and-response chanting of sacred mantras, names of God, or devotional songs. It’s typically performed in a group, where one person (the lead) sings a line and others repeat it.
🎶 Music-based devotion: Uses instruments like harmonium, tabla, kartals (cymbals), and mridanga.
Repetition (mantra chanting): Helps focus the mind and deepen meditation.
Call-and-response style: Encourages participation and unity.
Emotional expression: Devotees often sing with deep feeling (bhakti).
🕉️ Spiritual Purpose
Kirtan is considered a path of Bhakti Yoga (the yoga of devotion). Its goals include:
Connecting with the divine
Cultivating inner peace and joy
Letting go of ego and stress
Building a sense of community.
