PICASSo or "Portal Interface for Completely Authenticated Security Solution" is a security system being developed which not only uses wireless technology but is also connected to the internet. It provides remote access and surveillance for any of its installation. Best part its gonna be opensource so many can develop over the framework.

The Hardware - Fabricated and assembled.
Picasso also supports a 1.3 MP camera and is capable of streaming live video from it.
The node now has dual antennas thanks to antenna diversity. You get even signal strength in all directions.
Each node now costs less than $10 (500 INR if you prefer it that way) and can host upto 8 different analog sensors and a multitude of digital sensors. Data rates upto 2Mbps are supported and free air range extends beyond 300m.
Hardware upgraded!! Now it conforms to IEEE 802.15.4. Well umm partially... Details coming soon.
