Vedanta Group is accelerating its AI-led industrial transformation journey with plans to unlock USD 300–400 million in value over the next three years through advanced digital and manufacturing technologies.

Through its VSpark DeepTech Ventures platform, Vedanta is scaling AI, predictive analytics, automation, digital twins, IIoT, machine learning, and connected manufacturing technologies across mining, metals, energy, and industrial operations.

The company’s AI-driven initiatives are already delivering measurable impact across production efficiency, operational safety, energy optimisation, and enterprise-wide manufacturing performance.

India’s consumer electronics manufacturing ecosystem is getting a major boost as MEKR Technologies secures ₹67 crore in Series A funding led by Avaana Capital.

Founded in 2022 by Anand Yadav and Gaurang Kuchhal, Mekr is building a full-stack design and manufacturing platform for consumer appliances with a strong focus on modular engineering, advanced manufacturing and supply chain localisation.

The company has already developed 100-plus SKUs and partnered with leading brands, including Croma, Wipro, Amazon Basics and Flipkart.

Vikas Verma, Partner at Avaana Capital, said “ Mekr is building foundational engineering and unlocking manufacturing capabilities that directly address India’s structural reliance on imported appliance components ”

Anand Yadav, Co-founder of Mekr, added “ We believe India is at the beginning of a major manufacturing transformation and Mekr is building the integrated engineering and supply chain platform needed to enable this shift at scale ”

The fresh funding will support R&D, product engineering, manufacturing automation, supplier localisation, and global market expansion as Mekr aims to strengthen India’s position in global electronics manufacturing.

Effective May 1, 2026, Bernd Hermeler has assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Oliver Lemmer. With more than 35 years at CemeCon and extensive experience across technical and commercial leadership roles, Hermeler brings deep operational knowledge and strategic insight to the position.

Christoph Feig has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer, bringing strong experience from the steel and aluminium industries along with his earlier tenure at CemeCon. Meanwhile, Dr Ing Beate Hüttermann continues as Chief Marketing Officer, overseeing sales, product management, and global marketing operations.

Schaeffler has entered into a strategic partnership with VinDynamics, part of Vietnam’s Vingroup, to develop and supply advanced planetary gearboxes for humanoid robotics applications.

The collaboration focuses on key actuator components that function as robotic muscles and joints, enabling precise and efficient movement in humanoid systems. Both companies will also jointly collect robot and application data to enhance actuator performance and enable future predictive maintenance solutions.

This marks Schaeffler’s first partnership of its kind with a humanoid robotics manufacturer in the Asia Pacific region, strengthening its global robotics ecosystem alongside existing collaborations in Europe, China and the US.

The partnership aims to accelerate the development of next generation motion technologies and support the transition of humanoid robots from research to real world industrial and service applications.
