वोटिंग से कुछ दिन पहले शराब, कंबल, रुपये बाँटते हुए शर्म नहीं आई। तब जनता की तकलीफ़ याद नहीं आई।
आज़ादी के बाद 70 बरसों तक भी पूरे देश में बिजली, अस्पताल, सड़कें, स्कूल, शौचालय, बैंक, परिवहन के साधन, रोज़गार के अवसर नहीं दे पाने का कभी मलाल नहीं हुआ।
दूर गाँवों में बैठे लोगों को बारिश में नदी पार कर अपनी जान जोख़िम में डालकर स्कूल जाते बच्चों के लिए पुल बनाने की याद नहीं आई।
सीमा पर शहीद होते सैनिकों की सुरक्षा की याद नहीं आई। उनके परिवार वालों की कभी याद नहीं आई।
पाकिस्तान पर एक बदले 10 गोली चलाने की अनुमति नहीं दी।
देश के मंदिरों का पैसा डकारते रहे और हज के लिये सब्सिडी लुटाते रहे। तब देश की जनता याद नहीं आई।
अपनी विदेश यात्राओं में भीख का कटोरा लेकर जाने में कभी शर्म नहीं आई। कभी विश्व के सामने अपनी ताक़त दिखाने का ख़याल नहीं आया।
आज चले आ रहे हैं रोज़ नए वीडियो के साथ,कभी प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस के साथ, कभी लाईन में लग रहे हैं कभी ग़रीबों की परेशानी का हवाला दे रहे हैं। मध्यम वर्ग की बड़ी चिंता हो रही है।
लेकिन जनता शांत है, वो चुपचाप लाइन में खड़ी है। सब देख, सुन और समझ रही है। अबकी बार आना फिर चुनावों में, तुम्हें भी लाइन पर ला देगी।
