Sahodari Foundation is a forefront organization which advocates for the transgender and queer people's social, economic and human rights in India.
The organization was found by Transgender rights activist Kalki Subramaniam in 2008. Sahodari Foundation empowers the underprivileged transgender community of India through education, art and creativity. visit us at www.sahodari.org to know more and to partner with us.
At the Sahodari Foundation Transgender Day Meet at Pollachi of Tamilnadu India, tranwoman Yasmin gave a brilliant speech opening the reality of trans lives impacted by the Transgender Protection of Rights Amendment Act 2026.
At the Sahodari Foundation Transgender Day 2026 event at Pollachi in Tamilnadu India, tranwoman Raghavi gave her maiden speech and it was brilliant. She spoke about the transgender rights protection Amendment Act and it's impact on the transgender community.
Maggi, a graduate in B.Sc computer applications is a CA student. We are proud to give a new laptop for education and work from Sahodari Foundation. With this tool, she can study at ease and with intense to pass her exams, at Sahodari Foundation (www.sahodari.org) we choose to support her education so that it will enable to get her a better future. The Rotary Club of Avinashi Next Generation and my dear friend Rotarian Jayaprakash made this possible. We at Sahodari Foundation (www.sahodari.org) are proud to announce that we have signed an MoU with Amazon India to uplift our less privileged transgender women and rural women through their Saheli and Karigar programs which will enable small businesses and cottage industries run by them to thrive through Amazon India platform.
In line with that, yesterday we had an introductory training program about Saheli and Karigar for our women in which Amazon's Account Manager of Saheli and Karigar programs Ms.Sarita Tiwari clearly and warmly explained the benefits of joining these programs for small businesses run by rural and transgender women. Our trustee Mrs.S Umamaheswari did the introductory and closing inspiring remarks. My sincere thanks to Amazon India and Ms.Sarita for this immensely inspiring wonderful association and collaboration with Sahodari Foundation.
Together, we will uplift those rural and trans women entrepreneurs who are talented, and who deserve visibility, recognition and need to get many steps ahead.
