The word 'young' evokes the impression of dynamism, enthusiasm and energy. These are- Yuva Prerna Yatra, Prerna Ta**ra, Udhyamshala.
Yuva Prerna Yatra takes 100 highly motivated Youths to a bus journey in the strategic areas of India providing an opportunity to interact and learn from exceptional "Change Makers" and awakening an entrepreneurial spirit within them. Various studies have predicted that India would become YOUTH CAPITAL of the World by the year 2027, when majority of the Indian population will consist of young perso
ns. It is this ocean of energy and enthusiasm which if channelized properly will help to build strong and prosperous India. As we all are aware that approx. 70 % Indians are living in rural area i.e villages and in most of the rural regions education and health condition & infrastructure is in pathetic condition, livelihood options are limited, forcing local youths to migrate to urban region in search of employment opportunities living behind their land holdings, traditional livelihood options, culture & family. As we all are aware that the rural India has huge untapped human and natural resources which is not either utilized or underutilized due to lack of information, awareness, exposure, guidance, mentoring, market linkages & back-end support mechanism. We feel if given the opportunity to bridge the gap of this connectivity of different background, culture and mindsets for these youths from rural and urban background, new opportunities would emerge and help India to move towards brighter future. Especially in the hilly regions of Uttarakhand, popular saying is that Pahaad ki Jawaani aur Pahaad ka Paani kabhi uske kaam nahi aata (Youth and water from the hills flow down without benefiting their origin). It is this saying that spurs us in our endeavor wherein we plan to take a step towards the empowerment of youth by creating awareness, exposure visits/journey to tap the untapped resources , understand rural and social entrepreneurship at local level, by organizing various capacity building programs and "Yatra of Change" like this. Yuva Prerna found three basic gaps in the society especially among youth - Lack of exposure/motivation, Lack of support, Lack of capabilities to execute. Yuva Prerna is ready to work on these three basic gaps through its 3 tier intervention in the society.
