ALIG – A Literacy Initiative Group was established to create a difference in the lives of the many underprivileged, with the able support of organizations and individuals, who would want to extend a helping hand in the social sector. We have been relentlessly working in the fields of Education, Health and Social Entrepreneurship (specifically Women Empowerment) over the last few years and have pro

The field answered.
In March 2025, the sky struck Bisoi with hail that did not belong to the season. Four hundred and forty-two hectares of standing crop were taken in an afternoon. The slow agreements between farmer and ground, undone in less than the time it takes to walk home from the field.
A signal had arrived.
We went to Pundida. To Kesargadia. To Saraspada.
Not with a story. With seed.
What you are looking at here is not a triumph. It is a sentence completing itself.
Across these villages, hands have returned to soil. Vegetables that were lost have come back, in rows, in baskets, in bowls carried home at the end of a long day. Poultry moves through courtyards again. Goats graze where there was only debris. Mushrooms grow in the dark of small rooms that have learnt a new use. Beside the food, marigolds — planted not for decoration but as companions to the crop, holding pests at a distance, holding belief at a closer one.
This is what climate-resilient livelihood looks like when it is no longer a phrase in a proposal. It looks like a hand. It looks like a row. It looks like a household that has decided, again, to plant.
World Environment Day 2026 asks each of us to send a signal back.
.
This is ours. It does not arrive as a slogan. It arrives as harvest.
To the farmers of Bisoi who planted again — we are still learning from you. The world is still learning from you. The signals you are sending are quieter than the storm, and more durable. They will outlast it.
The Earth is sending signals.
So are the people who work the Earth.
