The Manipuri Pudding/Porridge (Chak-hao Kheer)

The black glutinous rice is a unique variety native to Manipur. It is purple and dark in colour due to the rich presence of anthocyanins which are powerful antioxidants, associated with various health benefits.

Chak-hao has a higher content of minerals, protein and bioactive compounds as compared to white rice varieties.

Well known for its authentic flavour in Manipuri's culinary delights, this aromatic herb also has medicinal significance.

Several reports indicate its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Furthermore, it is useful for stomach ulcers, reducing high blood pressure etc.

Singju/Eromba Mathel

The Manipuri Traditional Dish - Singju/Eromba.

Yongchak Eromba (mashed tree beans) or Yongchak Singju (spicy traditional salad of tree beans with fermented fish) can be prepared from dried conditions.

Simply soak in warm water a few minutes and your tender Yongchak is ready.
