Just as we enter the next year, we look back at what the last one held for us. For Akshar, 2016 meant lighting up the lives of hundreds of children. For us it meant upliftment of those who have lost all hope.

We have been able to make these people smile only because of your support! We hope to keep working hard this year and uplift many more!

The new year brings with itself innumerable new opportunities and akshar promises to take them up with enthusiasm and determination! Happy new years!
Let's make 2017 a year of giving more!

Project Akshar, in its effort to provide cheap educational resources to the underprivileged children, has now partnered with Sahyog care for you NGO. This partnership is helping poor children who desire to study but are unable to do so because of the dirth of proper study material. we will now be able to provide economical stapled notebooks to these motivated children.

The partnership has been beneficial in removing the obstacles on the road to education. Akshar hopes to help more children in the future and keep passing on the spark of encouragement to those who have not been enlightened yet.

9. The importance of recycling

Considering how much paper we use every year, the importance of recycling soon becomes clear. Around one-fifth of the paper we use gets recycled and recycling doesn’t only save trees – every tonne of paper that gets recycled saves 7,000 gallons of water and produces 73% less air pollution than producing paper from new materials.

8. Paper aeroplanes

There can’t be anyone who at some point in their life hasn’t made a paper aeroplane, but some people are a little better at it than others.
In 2012, a new world record for distance was set by paper aeroplane thrower (and quarterback) Joe Ayoob, using a plane designed by John Collins (AKA ‘ThePaperAirPlaneGuy‘). Ayoob beat the previous record of 63.19m by nearly 6m when his plane travelled 69.14m.
