PP13: Travel Distractions of the “Iron Lady”

ARTIST: Michelle Gallagher

COMFORT: The "Iron Lady" visits Seoul, Korea as part of a 30 day project. In 2020 I created the "Iron Lady" during the first wave of lockdowns. Separated from visiting family in Ireland, I started thinking of all the places I would love to visit and re-visit so using old photographs from trips, the "Iron Lady" visited and travelled instead of me. Art has been a blessing during Covid, my meditation.

COMFORT: Inspired by letter writing - giving and receiving - which gave me solace in the last year. A nod too, to glimpses into others domestic 'office' spaces during Lockdown Zoom calls.
