Six Lough Swilly Yacht Club sailors take on Round Ireland Race Six sailors from Lough Swilly Yacht Club have taken part in the The 700-mile Round Ireland Race.

A great night was had by all at the prize giving closing event of . Well done to all who took part. We were delighted to come 2nd in line honours - as an amateur crew on a Volvo 70, line honours was as much as we could hope for and all involved are delighted!

We look forward to lots more ocean races in the future 🐲🙌

Conor Ferguson 👏👏👏

To the man who pulled it all together, .conor spent countless hours with careful attention to detail and logistics which made it all possible and also protected everyone in safety and legal terms.

Unfortunately due to a minor health issue, Conor was unable to partake in the race but there’s no way it would have all happened without him. He carefully selected watches and positions based on abilities and personality types which helped the whole endeavour be a huge success and so enjoyable for everyone.

You were sorely missed Conor and the crew can’t wait to the next race adventure with you.

You have created something wonderful!

Cathal was proud to represent Spiddal Sailing Club and he and Rob Talbot had their burgee and flag on board.

The crew were blown away by Cathal’s calm, logical decision making and maturity.

Cathal even managed to whip up soup for the crew on one late night shift when he wasn’t on the helm or in a harness up the mast!

Well done Cathal 👏👏👏some achievement for a 21 year old! Here’s to lots more ocean racing in the future for all involved 🐲
