Hope you are all enjoying the good weather but please remember that with conditions so dry fires can be ignited very easily. Here’s a few photos of incidents we’ve attended over the last few days.
Please be careful out there and ensure all embers are extinguished if using barbecues.
Report all fires if you see something starting. The earlier we get there the safer it is for everyone.

High Temperature Warning.
Met Éireann has indicated that exceptionally warm weather is expected across Ireland this week, with high daytime temperatures, warm and humid nights, and the possibility of thunderstorms.
• Daytime temperatures are expected to exceed 25°C, with values possibly reaching 30°C on Thursday.
• Night-time conditions are expected to remain very mild and humid, with temperatures generally staying above 15°C.
• Thunderstorms are possible, particularly on Thursday. Thunderstorms can produce intense rainfall over a short period. This may lead to sudden surface water flooding, poor visibility and hazardous road conditions, even in areas that do not normally flood.
A yellow weather warning for high temperatures has been issued from 12:00 Tuesday 23/06/2026, to 09:00 Friday 26/06/2026.
The public should continue to check the Met Éireann website www.met.ie and app for the latest forecasts and weather warnings.
Also please remember that if you are using barbeques ensure that they are fully out before you leave them unattended as these can be a source of ignition for Forest/Grass fires which when combined with high temperature have the potential to become serious incidents which take significant resources from Fire Services to control.

Recently personnel from Offaly Fire & Rescue Service carried out specialised training on the Compressed Air Foam System (CAFS) — a vital firefighting technique that enhances fire suppression.
CAFS technology allows crews to tackle fires more effectively by producing a high-quality foam that cools and smothers flames, reduces water damage, and increases safety on the fireground. Training like this ensures our firefighters remain fully prepared to respond to a wide range of incidents with confidence and skill.
A special thank you to Loughnane Concrete, Birr for the generous use of their facilities. Having access to a suitable training environment allows crews to conduct realistic, live fire scenarios, providing invaluable hands-on experience in a controlled and safe setting.
This type of practical training is essential — it strengthens operational readiness, sharpens decision-making, and directly benefits the communities we serve by ensuring a faster, safer, and more effective emergency response.
Your support makes a real difference — thank you for helping us protect our firefighters and our community.
