Day 5 was our final full day together ๐ข the focus was to evaluate and reflect on the week, complete & present youth passes & fit in as many last memories in Ireland as we could before our new Maltese friends returned home ๐
This meant it was only right to spend the morning on the evaluations to then have a jam packed afternoon of fun including rock climbing, aero ball, brain teasers, SUPs & of course time in the bog ๐โฆ which was enjoyed by most ๐
We then all got scrubbed up for our presentations for the night for youth pass, prizes for some of the participants & concluding with more spice bags, karaoke & bingo ๐๐ผ all participants were also presented with youth exchanges tops to take home with them as a memory ๐งก
The following morning we spent time doing more games before saying our final farewell until we travel to Malta at the end of the month ๐ฅฐ
Thank you to Franky, Trish, the lads & all their team for hosting us, their kindness & patience as always never goes unnoticed โบ๏ธ Lilliput Adventure Centre

Day 3 started with the young people giving up their phones for the day before some energizers & then headed into the forest for a game of Laser Tag where the young people were to work in teams against the other ๐
Once the energy was high we started on more thematic workshops with the focus on self care, triggers & coping mechanisms โบ๏ธ this included writing letters to our future selfโs, focusing on our strengths, triggers & how to cope with them and much more ๐ช๐ผ we then spent time out in the lake playing games on the SUPโs ๐คฉ we then headed back to the forest for more team building activities including night line & bivvy building .. where it got very competitive ๐
After spending time recognising learning through the youth pass for that day it was the Maltese cultural night where they shared local foods, the history of the island, the language and some art ๐ผ๏ธ

Day 2 was all about Irish & Traveller culture ๐ฎ๐ช There was an early rise & we headed on the road to Dublin starting with a cultural trip to Croke park where the group learned about famous landmarks in Dublin, Irish history & Irish sports ๐
Then we gathered for lunch before our visit to where they learnt more about the European Parliament and how it works & engaged in interactive activities โบ๏ธ they then had time for a treasure hunt & some shopping before making our journey back to Lilliput ๐คฉ
Back at HQ the Lilliput staff were busy cooking up an Irish stew & our culture night got underway - jam packed with bread making, spice bags, Tayto sandwiches, Annie sharing about the Irish Language, discussions on Traveller culture & a quiz ๐ช๐ผ A great day 2 ๐ฎ๐ช๐ฒ๐น

On Tuesday July 23rd our Maltese partners arrived to Ireland to begin our second youth exchange of the year ๐ฅฐ
Our group met them at the airport & travelled to Lilliput where we would be for the week โบ๏ธ the sun was shining & the heatwave had just begun โ๏ธ we had dinner together before the young people brought the Maltese around Lilliput so they could get there bearings. We then headed up onto the hill to watch the sunset over the lake ๐
The group were tired as they had a long travel day so we headed to bed to be energised for day 1! ๐คฉ
Day 1 was jam packed- starting with giving up their most prized possessions.. phones ๐ this was in support of the theme - digital detox. We then gave them some mini cameras to capture their day & a full schedule.. that they then didnโt even miss the phones โบ๏ธ
Orienteering, Ice breakers, human bingo, name games, setting out the week, games in the forest, exploring our phone use & the impact, team challenges, & of course some time to cool down in the lake ๐โโ๏ธ๐ day 1 was nothing short of busy! Then in country groups we spent time reintroducing youth passes & beginning the daily process of recognising the learning from the day to populate their youth pass ๐ช๐ผ then it was bed.. ready for an early start the next morning - with a Cultural Trip to Dublin planned ๐ฎ๐ช Generation Change? funded by the European Commission & supported by Lรฉargas

We had a great day today cleaning up the back garden of the youth club in Trim with some of our senior group.
We spent a couple of hours clearing some seriously overgrown weeds.
The lads got stuck right in and we had plenty of laughs and good craic along the way.
We finished off with some well-deserved pizza afterwards.
Great effort from everyone involved.
