The Red Line Book Festival Poetry Competition - now in its 15th year - attracts hundreds of entries from across the island of Ireland annually.

Closing date for entries is Monday 7th September 2026. No entries will be accepted after this date.

Are you are songwriter looking to develop your craft, collaborate with other musicians and bring you music to the next level?

Red Line Book Festival is inviting applications for a 5-week songwriting programme led by our Songwriter in Residence during September and October. Through a series of hands-on sessions, participants will explore the songwriting process and develop new material in a supportive and creative environment.

The programme will culminate in a live showcase as part of the Red Line Book Festival, taking place from October 12 - 18th, giving participants the opportunity to perform their work for an audience. Participants will also have the exciting opportunity to record their music in a professional studio.

Closing date for applications is Monday, August 31, 2026 at 12:00 PM.
