Navan AC

We had a number of adult members in race action last weekend, with several running in Longwood in the 3/4 Marathon, while Rachel Deane ran in the Meath Novice XC's. Well done to all of our members on another good weekend of racing 🟢🟣

Day 1 of the Meath Cross Country Championships took place on Sunday 4th October in Navan Adventure Centre. Thankfully the rain held off and underfoot conditions were good for our 13 competitors. The day started with Aibhín and Aoife lining up in the u10 girls race. Well done girls on a great effort on a tough course👏 .
Sam, Rian, Daimhin and James gave it 100% in the u10 boys race. Their combined efforts saw them finish 4th in the team event. Great job lads💪.
Kevin and Feidhlim had strong runs in the u12 boys race which will stand to them when they race again next week.
Katie was our sole representaive in the u14 girls race. She slotted into second place after the uphill start and held onto that position to the finish. Well done Katie on your silver medal🥈👏.
Tom, Callum and Odhran were our last competitors of the day in the u14 boys race. Tom went with the lead group from the gun. Holding down 2nd place for most of the race he had to dig deep up the final hill, securing the silver🥈 in a sprint finish. Congratulations Tom👏. Callum and Odhran who were competing out of age put in great runs to finish 8th and 12th respectively. As a result, the team earned a well deserved silver medal🎉.
🟣🟢Well done to all our juvenile participants. The coaches are very proud of you all. 🟢🟣 Congratulations to all of our u14's who have qualified for the Meath teams🟢🟡 for the Leinster championships.
The very best of luck🍀 to those running next weekend in the uneven ages.

Eight of our juveniles took on the hills in Stamullen last Sunday as they participated in the 36th running of Star of the Sea's cross country event. Well done to Aoife, Sam, Sadhbh, Ryan, Alexandra, Finn, Tom and Fionn who all rose to the challenge and put in super runs. Congratulations to Sadhbh who claimed bronze in the u11 race and to Tom and Fionn who finished 3rd and 4th respectively in the u14 race. To top things off, Tom and Fionn also got to meet European bronze medallist Andrew Coscoran.
