Our budding archaeologists in Ashbourne Library gave Indiana Jones a run for his money during The Big Dig as part of our Heritage Week celebrations! Big thanks to the School of Irish Archaeology for bringing history to life and teaching us how to excavate for Viking treasures and artefacts.

A Dunboyne borrower kindly returned a book her family borrowed back in 1972. They believe it must’ve been borrowed from the mobile library that visited the school in Ratoath because they weren’t members of a library until later in life.

The staff in Dunboyne have crunched the numbers and worked out that the book was 19,394 days late - luckliy enough, Libraries Ireland removed all late fees a number of years ago!

Have you got a child who is always saying "come look what I built!" in Minecraft?

This one is for them!

🎮 Our Summer Stars 'Minecraft Build Challenge' is open and we want young builders to use their imagination to create their Dream Summer Holiday Village.

It can be big or small; sensible or completely bonkers... there’s no right or wrong way to build it. They can enter on their own or team up with friends or siblings to build.

🏆 And yes - there are prizes to be won!

Already have a Minecraft fan in the house? Give them the nudge and get them building!

Entries close 22 August.
