Apologies in advance if politics aren’t your thing - but this is an important article and well worth a read.
In here is a description of the endgame of a false logic - that there is no downside to the pursuit of sovereignty in an interconnected world.
I confess that I take no pleasure in what is unfolding in the UK now. The deterioration that is occurring is reminiscent of the debacle of the Suez Crisis in 1956. And, ultimately, the island of Ireland will inevitably be impacted in due course. Not good times for any of us.
The markets have taken back control: so much for Truss's Brexit delusion of sovereignty | Jonathan Freedland This is the biggest humiliation of Britain since Suez, a reminder that no government can ignore reality, says Guardian columnist Jonathan Freedland

UPDATE: BEN HAS NOW GONE TO RESCUE ❤️
We have posted Big Ben a few times now with sadly no home offers for him. He came into us on August 26th and he is very stressed in a kennel environment. His paws were bleeding from pacing, we have now moved him to a new run and this is improving, he is losing a lot of weight. He is a young German Shepherd cross approx 18 months old, he gets on with dogs his own size, we don’t know about cats, he can be nervous as we suspect he hasn’t been exposed to much before he came into us, he is nervous of some men but not all. Adult only home with a fully enclosed garden, he is not suitable as a yard dog or to live in a dog run, he wants to be part of the family ❤️ With 9 more dogs into us yesterday we are now under pressure for kennel space and are nearly at capacity, we need a new home for Big Ben soon 🙏🏻 please someone out there must be willing to give him a chance or at least come and meet him 🙏🏻 if not please share

An interesting piece on ADHD
I met a man from an ADHD charity and it was like meeting myself. Ideas, thoughts and half-thoughts tumbled out | Adrian Chiles It was, to paraphrase the great Eric Morecambe, a conversation containing all the right notes, if not necessarily in the right order – but I learned enough to change my mind about two long-held opinions

The lived experience of trans and gender non-binary…a very interesting contribution
My life outside the gender binary: ‘People want to know, often within the first handshake, whether you were always like this’ ‘So, when did you know?’ As a gender nonconforming trans person, I have spent years being quizzed about my identity. But sometimes there are no neat answers

Interesting perspective
The philosophical roots of CBT help explain its limitations | Psyche Ideas Not all psychological problems are thinking problems. Trying to solve them purely cognitively, with CBT, won’t help us mature
For anyone struggling with making a decision, and with the possibility of having to engage with regret, here’s a beautiful thought to help you on your way.
The Road Not Taken
BY ROBERT FROST
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
