The 20th of January 2026 was a staff appreciation day. 5 Staff members were awarded with a long service award. Three staff members work in Rathfredagh for 25 years, one staff member for 31 years and one staff member for 35 years. Congratulations to all involved and a huge thank you to Kevin Barry for providing the entertainment.

No better man.
Yesterday we welcomed Pa Foley to our outreach office in St. Ita's Community Hall, Abbeyfeale for a work placement. We are delighted he has joined us and he will be with each Wednesday afternoon over a period of 12 weeks. He will be working with the staff on a number of projects and group activities.

From the management of Rathfredagh Cheshire home: "It is with deep regret and sadness I wish to inform you of the sad death of Ms Betty O' Riordan at home in Rathfredagh on Wednesday 19th September at 12.25pm. Betty passed away very peacefully surrounded by her loving family and her dedicated staff.
Betty has been a Service User in Rathfredagh for 39 years, and she will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
May her gentle soul Rest in Peace, Heaven has gained a new angel."
For people who want to say goodbye to Betty in Rathfredagh, they can do so from this evening (Thursday, 18/09) after 4 pm. On Friday Betty will be brought to her sister's house in Abbeyfeale. See the funeral arrangements below.
Update: Betty will be leaving Rathfredagh on Friday 19/09 around 2.30 pm.
