IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO ALL PARENTS

We need to be very clear on this going forward: please leave the coaching to the coaches and the refereeing decisions to the referees

Our coaches are volunteers who give up their own time to develop and support your children. They put in countless hours behind the scenes — often sacrificing family time and personal commitments — to help your child. Let them coach, support them but in a positive manner and stop giving different directions to the kids from what they have been shown at training.

What you don’t always see is the preparation that goes into training and games, the conversations with parents, coaches and other clubs, and the work involved in making sure everything runs smoothly. At times, coaches go home to their own families dealing with the impact of putting other people’s children first. All of this is voluntary and often comes at a personal cost, so please respect the commitment they make.

Will they make mistakes? Of course they will — they are human. But that does not give anyone the right to abuse, intimidate or undermine them.

The same applies to referees and match officials. Decisions may not always go our way, but abuse or disrespect towards officials will not be tolerated. If you are such a brilliant referee then there are courses we can put you forward for, we all know there is a massive shortage of referees so it’ll be a huge benefit to have more available.

Parent conduct is simple: support your child, encourage the team, respect the coaches and officials, and allow coaches to do their job. If you have a concern, raise it calmly through the proper club channels — never from the sideline or in front of the children.

Fairview Rangers expects a high standard of behaviour from everyone connected with the club. We operate a ZERO-TOLERANCE policy on abuse, intimidation or threatening behaviour towards coaches or officials.

Anyone who crosses that line will be dealt with by the club and may be asked to leave.
