OCEAN TO CITY 2026
Congratulations to Fiola Foley and cox Celine Kavanagh who, along with their crew of Vanessa Lawrenson, Paula Moloney, Sheila Clavin, named “Big O” won the veteran women’s competition along with the overall women’s competition at this year’s Ocean to City! The 26 course brought with it, varying conditions which made for a very challenging, but enjoyable event. The crew stayed strong and held off tough competition from a strong Dutch veteran crew, and also managed to put some of the men’s boats under pressure đŸ’ȘđŸ’Ș
Congratulations and we are all so proud! đŸ„‡

This weekend two Killorglin Masters rowers, Fiola Foley and Celine Kavanagh McCarthy will take part in Ocean to City in Cork. They form part of a crew with rowers from St Michael’s Limerick and will take on the long ‘ocean’ category distance.

An Rás Mór is Ireland’s flagship long-distance rowing and paddling race — part of the Cork Harbour Festival — navigating one of the world’s largest natural harbours before finishing in Cork city centre. With over 640 participants from Ireland and across Europe, it’s one of the biggest days in the rowing calendar.

We’re incredibly proud of both Fiola and Celine for representing the club and flying the Killorglin flag on the water this Saturday. đŸ’Ș

Bronze it is! đŸ„‰

Congratulations to Celine Kavanagh for proudly representing the Club in the Women’s Solo event at the recent Swift Masters Sculling Championships.

Celine travelled all the way to Glenarm in Co. Antrim to take on the wild waters of the North Channel - and came home with a well-earned medal.

A fantastic achievement. Well done, Celine!

LIMERICK AND SCHOOL REGATTAS

Following the recent cancellation of Skibbereen Regatta, we’re more than eager to get back on the water this weekend as we compete in a double-header at Limerick Regatta and Schools Regatta, proudly representing both Killorglin Rowing Club and the Intermediate School Killorglin.

Both regattas are run over 1,500m and begin early each morning. The first race for the club is the Women’s Club Double on Saturday at 10:04am, followed by the Women’s U23 Quad at 9:54am on Sunday.

We are especially excited to see two new additions to our crews this weekend. Robyn O’Shea, Mary O’Sullivan, Tasha Donegan, and Mary Kate O'Neill will be taking to the water for their first-ever regatta in the Women’s Junior 13 and Junior 14 categories.
Wishing all crews the very best of luck this weekend, and safe travels to coaches, athletes, and supporters.

LEP 2025 - THANK YOU!!

Killorglin Rowing Club would like to sincerely thank the Department of Rural and Community Development and Kerry County Council for the allocation of a €1,1830.00 grant towards the purchase of a new outboard engine for our safety launch under the Local Enhancement Programme 2025. This funding will enable us to bring a second safety boat into full operation, significantly enhancing supervision, expanding safety coverage, and strengthening support for both club members and other river users.
