🐾 Meet Trixie - Our Little Supreme Survivor! 🖤

Trixie’s story has a heartbreaking beginning. She was found by a passerby, trapped in a ditch beneath a heavy object. Thankfully, her finder managed to free her and rushed her to the vets, where it was discovered that the ordeal had temporarily paralysed her hind legs.

The wonderful team at AllCare Vets Killarney quickly set to work on Trixie’s recovery and rehabilitation. Fast forward a few weeks, and this little fighter is doing amazingly well! 😊

Trixie does still have a slight outward lean on her left hind leg, but that certainly doesn’t slow her down. She is every bit the lively, playful kitten and can charge around with the best of them! 🐾💨

Once the zoomies are over, though, Trixie is more than happy to curl up with her human for cuddles, pets and some well-earned relaxation. ❤️

And this brave little girl isn’t fazed by dogs at all! She has also learned to accept the company of other cats. It might take her a couple of days to get used to new feline friends, but give her a little time and she’ll give everyone a chance. 🥰

Now all Trixie needs is a loving forever home where she can continue to thrive and be spoiled as much as she deserves.

🏴‍☠️🐾 Meet Ms. Commodore Kitten – our little pirate! 🐾🏴‍☠️

Arrr, this little lady is a pirate through and through! 🏴‍☠️❤️

Ms. Commodore Kitten is named after a famous one-eyed pirate, known for their prowess in battle – and our Commodore certainly lives up to the name! She is super energetic, playful and always on the attack. 😼

Her favourite tactics? Sneaking up on humans, dogs and other cats! She’s also constantly hunting for hidden treasures… only to find them and then re-hide them again. 😂 There’s never a dull moment with this little pirate aboard!

But after all the attacking, sneaking and treasure hunting, Commodore eventually runs out of steam. And that’s when she transforms into the cuddliest little pirate you could wish for. ❤️ She’ll curl up on your chest, purr and cuddle… and then purr and cuddle some more. 🥰

Commodore’s eye has healed miraculously well. At this stage, it does not need to be removed, although it will need to be monitored for the rest of her life. She is blind in that eye, but you can barely tell! She occasionally bumps into things and turns her head at the cutest angles as she works out what’s around her. 😍

She would do best in a home with high-energy friends to play with – whether that’s lively adults or children over 10. She is such a wonderful, fun little kitten and would bring endless entertainment, affection and mischief to her forever home. 🖤🤍

🎉 CELEBRATING 20 YEARS OF KLAWS 🎉

This Sunday’s Success Story is a little different, because this time we’re celebrating KLAWS itself.

This week, volunteers, members and friends came together in the heart of Kenmare to celebrate a very special milestone - 20 years of KLAWS. 🎂🥂

And it felt especially fitting to celebrate right here, where it all began.

KLAWS was founded in 2006 by a small group of animal-loving volunteers in Kenmare. What started locally has grown over the years, with KLAWS now helping animals across the Iveragh Peninsula and northern parts of the Beara Peninsula.

Twenty years on, so many animals have been given a second chance thanks to the people who have stepped forward to help along the way. 🐾

Just last year, 137 cats and 68 dogs found homes through KLAWS, with a further 25 TNR cases completed. Behind every one of those numbers is an animal whose life changed because somebody cared. ❤️

And none of it would be possible without our volunteers, members, fosterers and supporters - past and present. Some have been part of KLAWS for well over a decade, giving years of their time, love and dedication to animals in need. 🐾

A very special thank you to Kaetie, Dee, Billie and Eithne, who gifted this wonderful celebration to KLAWS and made the afternoon possible. ✨

A huge thank you also goes to Maison Gourmet, who made and generously donated our beautiful and very delicious birthday cake. 🎂

And to pfmccarthys, for hosting us for the afternoon. Their wonderful staff made everyone feel so welcome and helped make the celebration even more special. 🥂

Most of all, thank you to every person who has been part of KLAWS during these 20 years - whether you foster, volunteer, adopt, donate, fundraise, share our posts, support our charity shop or simply lend a hand when an animal needs it. ❤️

Twenty years later, every animal helped, every home found and every happy ending is part of a story that so many people have helped to write. 🐾

Here’s to 20 years of rescue, second chances and happy endings - and to all the lives still waiting to be changed. 🥂🐾

🐾 Private Rehoming - Rosie is looking for a loving home 🐾

Rosie is a beautiful Cocker Spaniel, around 10 years old, who is sadly looking for a new home because her owner has had to move into full-time care.

Rosie has lost some weight since this photo was taken, but she is otherwise in good health, with her vaccinations up to date.

She is a gentle, quiet and loving girl who would really benefit from a calm and caring home. Rosie is very short-sighted, so she does need a little extra care and patience, but she takes everything in her stride.

❤️ Rosie is:

* Good with other dogs
* Good with people, including children
* Very quiet and gentle
* Calm and easy-going
* Vaccinations up to date
* No known health issues

We can’t say for certain how she would be around cats, but given her age, eyesight and generally gentle nature, she is quite slow-moving and isn’t likely to be overly excitable.

We would absolutely love to find Rosie a kind, patient and loving forever home where she can enjoy her later years feeling safe, settled and very much loved. 🐶❤️

Daisy is every bit as beautiful as the wildflower she’s named after. 😊

This gorgeous little girl was lovingly raised by her mama in the care of KLAWS, and now she’s ready to blossom in her very own forever home. 🥰

Daisy fell in love with humans from the moment she opened her eyes, and these days, her absolute favourite thing in the world is being picked up for a lovely cuddle by caring human hands. ❤️

And if Daisy wants something, you can be sure she’ll let you know! 😉 This little fluffball is a wonderful vocaliser and has no problem making her desires known.

Beautiful, affectionate, and wonderfully expressive, Daisy is ready to bring lots of love, purrs, and personality into her new family.

🐾 Private Rehoming Appeal – Maggie 🐾

Meet Maggie, a beautiful 14-year-old Border Collie based in Laois. Local rescues in her area are currently overwhelmed, so we’re helping to spread the word in the hope of finding her the perfect match.

Maggie has been a much-loved family dog all her life. She has a wonderful temperament - friendly, affectionate, and enjoys the company of both people and other dogs. Although she’s 14, she’s still active and loves her walks and time outdoors.

🏡 Maggie is looking for:
🐶 A loving, committed home
🌳 Plenty of secure outdoor space (she has always lived outdoors)
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 An adult-only home or a family with older, dog-savvy children
🚶 Regular lead walks or access to a safely enclosed area to run, as she has a strong instinct to chase cars and livestock if loose

Maggie is not currently microchipped or neutered, and her vaccinations are not up to date. However, before she goes to her new home, she will be microchipped and her vaccinations will be brought up to date. She is otherwise in very good health for her age.

Her family is in no rush, they simply want to find the right home where Maggie can spend her golden years surrounded by the love, care, and attention she deserves. ❤️
