🐾 Nicki – Available for Adoption 🐾

Our little pocket rocket has been settling beautifully into foster over the past couple of weeks. She’s truly embracing all the comforts of home life — a cosy bed, a steady routine, and plenty of affection.

And just look at her here, chilling after a lovely afternoon being pampered at the dog salon. A huge thank you to the brilliant crew at Top Dog Grooming for taking such good care of her.

Nicki is now ready to find her forever family — one that will adore her tiny frame, big personality, and zest for life.

Thursday's with Beau & his new pal 🧡

Sunny made her way home today, leaving Beau after a wonderful few days together.
Watching him welcome new friends and cope so calmly with change… it’s incredible progress for a senior lad just a month into foster.

🐾 When was the last time you checked your dog’s microchip details?

It’s one of those things we think we’ve sorted… until the day we really need it.

If your dog ever goes missing, their microchip and tag could be the key to getting them safely back home 🏡🧡

But a microchip is only useful if the details registered to it are correct and up to date.

Take a few minutes to check:
📱 Is your phone number still the same?
🏠 Have you moved house?
✉️ Has your email address changed?
🏷️ Is their ID tag still readable and showing the correct contact number?

And remember, updating your details with your vet doesn't always mean your microchip database has been updated too.

Make sure you check the database your dog is registered with 🐾

A few minutes now could make all the difference if your dog ever gets lost.

So, grab their collar, check their tag and make sure their microchip details are up to date.

Help still needed for all time slots and all locations for this Saturday! If you can spare an hour or 2, it would be greatly appreciated! 🧡

Dundalk Dog Rescue will hold a Street / Bucket collection on Saturday 10-Oct. We will have a dedicated team of volunteers already covering the Centre so we’re calling on all previous collectors and new ones to help make our day successful.
The permit is for one day only so we need as many volunteers as possible so we can cover all the venues and have all 4 time slots filled.

10am – 12pm
12pm – 2pm
2pm – 4pm
4pm – 6pm

We're raffling off tennis balls for our great Tennis Ball Race! 🎾

We have 200 tennis balls, numbered 1-200. By purchasing a ticket, you get assigned a tennis ball with a number written on it.

The tennis balls will all be released at the same time from the top of a hill. They will all roll down the hill and whichever ball passes the finish line first is the winner! We have 4 prizes for 1st place to 4th place.

It's €5 per ball or 3 balls for €12 🎟️

Raffle closes at 10am Saturday 24th October and winners announced at 6pm 🏅

We received a very special visit last week from young Amy Toal, who made an incredibly generous donation to Dundalk Dog Rescue.
In April 2024, Amy’s boyfriend, Luke McAuliffe, tragically passed away at the young age of just 19. To honour his memory, Amy, alongside her family and friends, successfully fundraised to erect a beautiful memorial bench for Luke at Gyle’s Quay.
Because Luke was a passionate dog lover, Amy beautifully decided to donate the remaining funds from the memorial to Dundalk Dog Rescue. This thoughtful gift will go directly toward sponsoring a kennel in Luke’s name, ensuring his memory lives on by helping rescue dogs find their forever homes.
Thank you so much to Amy and everyone involved for turning their remembrance into such a kind and impactful gesture for our dogs. ✨

🌟 Sally (formerly Titch) Finds Her Forever Family 🌟

The most wonderful news this evening — Sally’s family have officially signed the adoption paperwork. She is home.

Sally first arrived into our care in early August from the Louth County Pound. Little Titch, as she was known then, was lucky enough to secure a foster placement while she recovered from surgery.

And it was on her release day that she quite literally caught the eye of a family who had been patiently waiting on our list. A brief but positive viewing was all it took — Titch was reserved.

A few weeks later, she made her big move to her eagerly awaiting family. Those first days and weeks were all about decompression, gentle introductions, and letting her settle at her own pace.

Titch became Sally — a new name for her fresh start. Her family have been wonderfully patient, allowing her to explore life slowly and safely. She’s enjoying her neighbourhood walks, getting familiar with her new surroundings, and — in true Spaniel fashion — she adores her tennis balls and her teddies.

Sally has her pick of cosy beds throughout the home, though her safe space remains her crate in the front room. But more often than not, she’s found in the garden, lying in the very same sunny spot she chose on her first day.

She still has a journey ahead in building her confidence outside the home, but she has already come such a long way. And with the support of her family, we know she’ll continue to blossom.
