To mark Men's Health Week, Danny McCormack took the time to connect with a number of his male colleagues through coffees, walks, chats, and gym sessions.

These simple conversations created space for open and honest discussions about feelings, mental health, and the importance of checking in with one another. Too often, men can feel they have to carry challenges alone, but real strength comes from talking, listening, and supporting each other.

Connection is key. A conversation can make all the difference. Let's continue to encourage openness, break down stigma, and remind each other that it's okay not to be okay.

πŸŽ‰ Funding Success for Cooley Peninsula Men's Shed πŸŽ‰

We are delighted to share that Cooley Peninsula Men's Shed has recently been awarded €89,250 in funding through the LEADER Programme, via the Louth Local Community Development Committee (LCDC).

This funding will be used to refurbish an iconic building in Greenore, creating a permanent home for the Men's Shed while also developing a shared, multi-purpose community facility that will benefit the wider local community.

This investment represents an important step in supporting community wellbeing, social inclusion, and local engagement, ensuring that this valued resource can continue to grow and serve the people of the Cooley Peninsula for years to come.

Congratulations to everyone involved in securing this funding and driving the project forward.

βœ‚οΈ Men’s Health Week at Rathmullen Community House πŸ’™

As part of Men’s Health Week, we were delighted to welcome the talented local barber Taylor Byrne to Rathmullen Community House, where he kindly offered free haircuts to members of the Rathmullen Men’s Group.

A haircut is about more than just looking goodβ€”it was also an opportunity for the men to connect with others in the community, enjoy a chat, and take some well-deserved time for themselves.

We were also pleased to have our friend Ade visit the group to talk about the supports available for men who may be experiencing difficulties with gambling, helping to raise awareness and encourage open conversations around wellbeing and support.

A huge thank you to Taylor for giving his time and skills, and to everyone who joined us. Events like these remind us of the importance of connection, community, and looking after our physical and mental wellbeing.
