This guy is now finished. Will leave him to dry. At least a month or 2, then bisque fire. Will give me time to consider glazes.

Update. Hollowed out. Crown reattached. Still to work the detail around the eyes.

Was nervous about the hollowing out bit. Inch thick wall. But worked well and his crown back in place. Whew!
So this is what I have working on this week. This is my first attempt at a life-size sculpture. This is created from solid block of clay. My focus was proportion. Still halfway the process. Need to hollow out and finish with detail. Learning lots as I go. Will post the progress as it happens. 😏
Feeling grateful. A big thank you to Colette and all the crew at the Sheamus Ennis Arts Centre for all their hard work organising the annual Christmas fair . Lovely meeting all the crafters , artisans and artists . A very talented bunch and not forgetting all the customers who braved the weather. .

The final works from the ceramic classes. All students were complete beginners and just look what they achieved in 8 weeks. Fabulous ladies and a joy for me to see the progress and achievements week on week.
