Getting through your Christmas orders 💌

Feels great not to be on Spotify anymore and you folks buying physical albums is deeply appreciated 💚

Looking into what other steaming platforms really mean for artists but I’m curious… as a music lover, what alternatives to Spotify have you tried and which ones did you like best?

The music industry doesn’t have to be this way and we, as artists and consumers, have more power than we think.

The alternatives to Spotify don’t pay much better so really the best way to support your favorite artists is by buying directly from them or subscribing to their Patreon.

The current music industry perpetuates the idea of exponential growth: sell more, release more, bigger audiences, bigger budgets, ultimately leading to more profit for those at the top.

We are forced into competition with ourselves and each other. As an artist and a human, I don’t want to be part of that system.

I’ve been taking time to think and reflect on how to exist in the world right now. And moving away from systems that help create billionaires and fuel war and violence is a simple first step. Ultimately, my departure from Spotify will make no difference to Daniel Ek’s billions, but if more and more artists get onboard (crucially the bigger artists!) then a real difference will be made.

We are calling on to be on the right side of history and divest from harmful partnerships.
