Thinking of moving to Ireland from Dubai or the Middle East? This may help you make an informed decision.

I worked in Dubai for more than 10 years as a Civil Structural Engineer, and here are some of the perks I lost when I moved to Dublin, Ireland.

1. Tax-Free Salary

The most obvious difference is income tax. Lahat ng sahod mo sa Dubai, sa’yo lahat yun. Here in Ireland, my minimum tax rate is 20%. A certain portion of my salary is even taxed at 40%.

2. Private Health Insurance

In Dubai, almost all companies provide private health insurance. Kahit anong test ang kailangan mo at kahit saang hospital ka magpunta, covered ka. Dito sa Ireland, if you want private health insurance, you have to pay for it yourself. Although meron namang public healthcare dito sa Ireland.

3. Annual Airfare

Almost all companies in Dubai or the UAE provide free annual airfare. Pwede pa nga itong i-convert to cash if you don't use it. Dito sa Ireland, that's usually not the case. If you want to go home, you'll have to pay for your own ticket.

4. Gratuity

In the UAE, there's something called gratuity, where you receive a lump-sum payment when you leave your job, depending on your salary and how long you've worked for the company.

Although dito naman sa Ireland, if you have children, they receive a monthly allowance from the government up to a certain age. There are also pension schemes and other social benefits available.

So those are some of the perks you'll have to let go of if you're planning to move to Ireland from Dubai or the Middle East. Hopefully, this helps you make a more informed decision about whether to push through with your plans. 😊

From this selfie photo to LinkedIn Profile Photo!

So I started with this selfie and then I used this app called Manus. This app is free and you have like a limit of 4 tries per day since it’s free. If you want to go beyond that, you need to pay.

So this is the simple prompt I used “Generate a corporate linkedin profile, dark navy suit and white longsleeves”.

Just make sure that you look at the camera while taking the selfie so that when the photo is generated, it will look like that you’re really looking at the camera. I also tried it with a different color of suit and it worked well.

So yeah, try it, it’s free.

Good luck on your job hunting and see you here in Ireland! Follow for more!😊🇮🇪🙏🏼
