4 YEARS IN THIS INDUSTRY 🎈

Four years of building my little business from the ground up. I’m fully tax registered with Revenue, and I’ve invested a LOT into learning my trade properly.

I’ve paid for courses and training with Blow It With Bex, trainers who come over from England, Irish Party Supplies and more. I’ve spent years learning about balloon quality, techniques, pricing and the REAL cost of running a business.

So honestly, it’s disheartening seeing huge setups being offered for absolute buttons by people who don’t even know what their materials are costing them.

Take a sailboard for example — the board, paint, 12”, 5” and 16” balloons, sometimes 3–4 different colours, plus your time, travel, setup, collection and storage. It all costs money.

And it’s not just balloons. Cake stands, LED lights, equipment, insurance, tax, fuel, maintenance and unexpected expenses all come with running a business.

Last week alone, my van cost me €1,000 to get repaired, and I was off the road for two weeks. These are real business costs that have to be factored into your pricing.

Please know your costs. Know what your time is worth. Know what your equipment costs.

Undercutting yourself doesn’t just affect other businesses — you’re also undervaluing your own work.

I’ve worked my absolute ass off for the past four years to build what I have today, and I will NEVER apologise for charging what my work is worth. ❤️ If you’re starting out, please work out your prices properly. Don’t give your work away for nothing. Know your worth. Know your costs. 🎈
