The excitement is building in the Springboard Communications office ahead of tomorrow’s solar eclipse! 🌞🌑

Tomorrow evening, Cork will get one of the best views in Ireland of a once-in-a-generation solar eclipse, with up to 96% of the Sun covered.

We’ve been working with Munster Technological University and Blackrock Castle Observatory over the past few weeks to help spread the word and get eclipse-ready with 6,500 free certified eclipse glasses available to collect, safe viewing and activities taking place across Cork City.

There'll be free family activities, music and astronomy experts at MTU Blackrock Castle Observatory, Tramore Valley Park and Bell’s Field from 6pm.

It’s set to be a pretty spectacular evening - and while we always knew Cork was the real capital, we’re even more convinced now that it’s the Eclipse Capital! 🌘

The eclipse will:
🌞 Begin at approx. 6.15pm
🌘 Reach maximum at 7.13pm
🌅 End at approx. 8.08pm

One important thing: ordinary sunglasses won't cut it. If you're looking directly at the Sun, you need certified ISO 12312-2 eclipse glasses.

Our Springboard Summer Party took us on a VIP Experience Fota Wildlife Park , where we learned more about the incredible work involved in caring for and protecting some of the world’s most endangered animals, on a guided behind the scenes tour with the Park Rangers.

As a B Corp certified agency, we’re passionate about making a positive impact, so it was inspiring to spend time with people whose everyday work is dedicated to conservation and protecting our planet's wildlife.

We wrapped up the evening in Cork City with a celebratory meal and drinks at Jacobs on the Mall to toast our PRCA Agency of the Year 2026 win! 🥂
