🏁🔥 FAUGHEEN50 SPRINT — DONE AND DUSTED! 🔥🏁

After four years away, Faugheen RRclub brought road racing back to Co. Tipperary this weekend with the Faugheen50 Sprint - and despite sweltering heat, the club pulled off something special.

A brand-new Sprint format was a first for Faugheen, and in the club's own words it "started as a bit of a curveball" but turned into a really good event. Riders, families and friends turned out in force, short circuit racers got a first taste of the roads, and club members got to race their own track like never before.

The club has paid warm tribute to everyone who made it happen: their friends from WestCork MCC - Conor, Stevie and Ben - the medical team, MCI scrutineers, officials and stewards, marshals and flaggers from the MMA, Carrick-on-Suir Motor Club and their own volunteers, plus the fellow road race clubs who lent a hand throughout. 👏

A special moment of the weekend saw Anthony O'Carroll present the fastest club prize to Brian McCormack - a memory the club say touched them like nothing else. 🏆

The Sprint was dedicated to James and John, following a heartbreaking fortnight for the sport. Our thoughts at RRI remain with their families, friends and clubs. 🖤

From everyone at Road Racing Ireland, a massive well done to Faugheen RRclub. To go away for four years and come back to run a brand-new format in that heat takes real heart. The Faugheen50 family is alive and well. 💪

Faugheen RRclub sprint, ups and downs.
I struggled day one. Couldn't quite understand why. Turns out a damper issue was causing the steering to become stiff as you went through the run.

Rebuilt that. Next day was straight away two seconds faster. Picked away at fixing sections.

The last run of the day the last big left. Finished braking, mid corner the front just shot out. It turns out I just hit the wrong bit of melted tar. 🤷

Got 3rd in super twins. Lost 3rd place i believe in the final run i junior.

Congratulations Dallas Reynolds you done fantastic.

Always thank you to Nicola O Connor for minding me.

And if course WestCork Mcc for doing timing. It would be impossible without them.

Had a great race. Dicing with scruff and liam crotty. Mostly 29s. Last lap i took a full second out to a 1:28.7 and pipped liam in last corner.
