This September we ran a preseason tournament for under 16 girls. It was a huge success and this was in no small way to the parents and families of our squad. We had 2 groups of 4 teams and Fr Mathews came out as winners of our group with victory over St Mary's Castleisland,Andersonstown Tigers and Kilkenny Stars. We were beaten in the Semi-finals by Liffey Celtics who later lost a tight final against Kenmare Kestrels. We ended up the tournament with a bronze medal.

This tournament was another chance to show off our facilities which are the envy of most clubs. The Fr Mathews team played very well with every member of the squad getting court time and contributing to the score board. We are looking forward to a big season ahead from this team. The tournament was run in a very professional manner with complements from the others teams for the level of refereeing and table officials.

All of the teams were awarded with diplomas and individual awards for their top defender of the tournament. Well done to Gina Carey for receiving best defender of Fr.Mathews squad!
All star 5 was created from all top 5 teams (1.Kestrels 2.Celtics 3.Fr.Mathews 4.St.Marys 5.Stars) Well done to our own Abby Murphy for making the selection!
MVP went to Tania Salvado of Kenmare Kestrels. Congratulations!
