National Ploughing Championships 2026 - what a week! 🚜🐄🐑

It's been a busy few days for the team at the Ploughing Championships, with plenty of conversations around how technology can make life on farm easier, more efficient and better informed.

We were also delighted to welcome Fin Walsh and Joe & Ellen O'Neill to the stand for a chat about their experience with the Tru-Test Active Tag collar system on their farms.

From weighing and EID to animal health and monitoring, there's been lots of interest in what technology can bring to the farm.

💬 “The collars were very easy to put on as well. Theresa helped us initially with the installation and putting the collars on, but we did the heifers ourselves and it was very easy to do. That was another big plus.”

Heats identified within 48 hours 🐄

Michael Bourke in Barnane, Co. Tipperary put Tru-Test Active Tag to work during this year’s breeding season and quickly saw the benefits.

💬 “We picked up a lot of heats in cows that we might not have identified with tail paint. We were surprised by how quickly the system showed us heats, within 48 hours.”

Michael has also seen the benefits of the health alerts, helping him spot potential issues early and take action quickly.

We can make this one feel quite different by building it around the initial hesitation and the fact that installation turned out to be far easier than expected.

They were going to wait until next breeding season. Then they realised they didn’t need to.

Tom & Kieran Lillis in Meanus, Co. Limerick, had planned to hold off installing Tru-Test Active Tag while building work was being completed on the farm.

Their concern was simple – they didn’t want the hassle of installing the system, only to have to move and reinstall it later.
