This 6 week specialised puppy course is a combination of online and in person classes based in Mallow Dog Arena. You will learn fantastic

Yesterday was a stressful day for many pets in our area. We had thunder on and off for approx three hours.
Stress has a cumulative effect in our dogs and it can take up to 72 hours for their amygdala to come back to basel after a stressful event
How do we help our dogs after a stressful event?
🐶 Do a decompression walk
🐶 Take a day or two off from walks
🐶 Avoid guests and social outings with your dog for a couple of days
🐶 Keep things low key. No pressure or expectation
🐶 Ensure they have lots of undisturbed quality sleep in quite low traffic area
🐶 Provide lots of calming enriching activities that include chewing, licking and foraging
🐶 Reward Calm settled behaviours

Please keep your pets safe and secure. The hot weather is due to end abruptly with thunderstorms forecast this evening
If your pet is distressed by the sound of thunder
Provide a safe secure low traffic area of house
Close curtains and blinds
Play music or TV
Provide a long lasting chew, lickmat or stuffed frozen food toy. If you don't have these just toss treats on floor
Some dogs benefit from thunder shirts or adaptil plug ins
Offer comfort but do so calmly.
If your dog suffers from noise sensitivity speak to a qualified training/behaviour professional
If your dog gets very distressed by noises such as fireworks and thunder speak to your vet in advance about medication
