We would like to thank all our clients for their continued support in 2025. While all of the little guys might be dreaming of Santa tonight we thought a we’d share a different take on the Christmas classic…..

’Twas the night before Carrick, and all ’round the farm,
Not a beast stirred a whisker—no hint of alarm.
The halters were hung on the gate with care,
In hopes that tomorrow would bring silverware.

The cattle were resting, all clipped to perfection,
Each coat shining bright in the moon’s pale reflection.
The heifers stood proud, broad-shouldered and deep,
While the bulls in their pens settled softly to sleep.

The showbox was packed—brushes, soap, twine, and spray,
Polish for hooves and the good rope for the day.
And I with my flask, and my old lucky coat,
Had just settled down to revise every note.

But dreams wouldn’t come, for my mind was alive
With the hum of the ring and the sale’s rising drive.
The patter of bids, the judge’s slow walk,
The rustle of straw and the ringside talk.

For Carrick is magic—an air of its own,
Where fortunes can change with the lift of a phone;
Where neighbours turn rivals, then toast with a grin,
And the best of the country all hope for a win.

So here in the quiet, the still winter night,
I whisper a prayer that the stock look just right.
That the months of hard work, through the wind and the rain,
Find reward in the ring, in the praise, in the gain.

Tomorrow brings Carrick—its pride and its roar;
The lights, the red rosettes, the crowd at the door.
But tonight, in the dark, with the frost laying thick,
I rest with my dreams of the showyard at Carrick.
