β½οΈπ΄ U10 Girls Enjoy a Special Day at Tallaght Stadium! π΄β½οΈ
Our U10 girls had a fantastic day out at Tallaght Stadium today for the Women's All-Island Cup Quarter Final between Shamrock Rovers F.C. and Peamount United FC.
The girls had the incredible experience of serving as ball girls during the match and, to top it all off, got the opportunity to play on the pitch at half-time in front of the crowd. It was a brilliant experience and one that will live long in their memories.
Days like these inspire the next generation of players and show our young footballers what can be achieved through hard work, dedication, and a love of the game.
A huge thank you to coaches Bren and Peter for giving up their time and making the trip possible, and a special thank you to Seanie B Buses for providing transport for the girls.
Well done to all the girls for representing the club so brilliantly. We are incredibly proud of you all! πβ€οΈβ½

Athy U10 Girls V Clane U10 Girls
Athy U10 girls played out an exciting and entertaining draw against Clane in a match full of great skill, determination, and teamwork from both sides.
Clane started brightly, creating the first chance of the game within the opening five minutes, but their effort went wide. Athy soon settled into the match and dominated possession for the next ten minutes, creating a good scoring opportunity that narrowly missed the target.
Athy continued to threaten, earning a free kick which led to a great effort from Erin that struck the post and went wide. Clane responded with sustained pressure and came close on two occasions, only to be denied by two fantastic saves from Katie.
The Athy girls maintained their momentum with another effort that drifted wide before Lottie tested the Clane goalkeeper with a well-struck shot. The breakthrough finally came when Erin delivered a superb cross into the box, and Melissa finished brilliantly to give Athy a deserved lead.
Clane showed great determination and pushed hard for an equaliser. Clara produced an excellent defensive clearance under pressure, while Athyβs defence worked tirelessly to keep their opponents out. Just before half-time, Clane enjoyed a strong spell of possession and created several chances, but Athy remained resolute and went into the break with a clean sheet.
Athy made the perfect start to the second half. Just two minutes after the restart, excellent team play created an opportunity for Emily, who finished superbly to double Athyβs advantage. Clane responded quickly with an effort on goal, but Erin made a brilliant save.
Emily continued to cause problems for the Clane defence with another goal attempt, while Clane kept pressing forward and were again denied by an excellent save from Erin. Midway through the second half, Athyβs pressure paid off once more when Lottie found the net with a lovely goal.
Athy continued to create chances, with Claneβs defence working hard to keep them at bay. Some excellent combination play involving Lottie, Zoey, and Emily almost produced another goal, while Zoey came close with a fantastic effort that was well saved by the Clane goalkeeper. Clara also impressed with some great play at the back.
In the final five minutes, Clane refused to give up. Melissa produced a great save before another Clane effort went wide. Rhyia, who had taken over in goal, also made an excellent save as Clane increased the pressure.
The closing minutes brought a dramatic finish. Clane managed to pull a goal back before scoring again shortly afterwards. In the final seconds of the match, Clane found the net once more to complete a remarkable comeback and secure a draw.
Despite the late goals, Athy can be very proud of their performance. The girls showed excellent teamwork, determination, and skill throughout the match. Well done to all the players for a fantastic game of football.
Player highlights: Erin (assist and strong goalkeeping), Katie (excellent saves), Clara (solid defending), Lottie, Zoey and Emily (great attacking play), Melissa and Rhyia (important saves in goal).
