🌿Why we’re skipping Black Friday🌿
At Umah Decor, we believe in sustainability, fair trade, and creating products that are built to last. Instead of encouraging impulse buys, we celebrate thoughtful, conscious shopping—choosing quality over quantity.
Every piece you buy from us supports Indonesian artisans, their craft, and a fair wage. That’s something we won’t discount, not even for Black Friday.
✨Thank you for making intentional choices with us. Let’s celebrate slow, ethical living together🥰
This may not be the best business practice, but this is how .decor does it💛

Did you know November 19 is Women’s Entrepreneurship Day? ☺️✨
I wrote another personal journal to reflect on what it means to build something — gently, slowly, and with love.
My business is still small, but my respect for women who are building theirs is HUGE.
Here’s to all the quiet builders and doers out there ❤️

This year marks a powerful milestone —
80 years since Indonesia declared its independence, just two days after the end of World War II.
As a Japanese woman who grew up listening to my grandmother’s wartime memories, and who now works closely with Balinese artisans,
this moment feels deeply personal.
From family stories of air raids in Kagoshima
to my years living in Jakarta,
to the shared smiles on a brand-new MRT platform…
This is a story about war, memory, peace —
and the quiet strength that lives on in culture and craft.
🪡✨ I’ve written a special blog to honor this anniversary.
It’s not just about history —
it’s about what freedom feels like, and how we keep weaving it forward.

Ten years ago, I took a trip that changed everything.
I wasn’t searching for a new life—I just needed to breathe.
But Bali had other plans for me.
I recently wrote a deeply personal story on the blog—about heartbreak, healing, and how a quiet island led me to a new kind of home.
👉 The full story is now on the blog—about the little moments that shaped everything, and the quiet beginnings of Umah Decor.

I'd love to know—have you ever visited a place that felt like it knew you before you even arrived?

Plastic Free July 🌿
Starts with one walk, one bag, and one choice.
In Bali, I join weekly beach cleanups Canggu Beach Clean up near Canggu—and every time, I’m reminded how much impact a small act can have.
At Umah Decor, we carry this spirit into everything we create:
✨ Plastic-free (or almost)
🌾 Made from nature
🧺 Crafted slowly by hand in Bali
Let’s bring more nature into our homes—and a little less plastic into the world.
Start small. Start beautiful.

🌅 And yes, the sunset after the beach clean is the best reward.
