The Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries, and Food Security (CTI-CFF) Regional Secretariat is seeking a qualified legal professional to provide Legal and Administrative Support Services for a four-month engagement, based in Manado, North Sulawesi, Indonesia.

The assignment will support the CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat on legal agreements and contracts, institutional and governance matters, legal research and advisory services, and organisational review and restructuring.

Key requirements:
⚖️ Bachelor’s degree in Law
📌 Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience
🌏 Experience working with international organisations, development programmes or multi-stakeholder environments
📝 Strong legal research, analytical and drafting skills
🇬🇧 Full professional proficiency in English

📢 Vacancy Announcement | Supporting Staff – MPA & Seascape TWGs

The Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries and Food Security (CTI-CFF) Regional Secretariat is inviting applications for a Supporting Staff position for the Marine Protected Areas (MPA) Technical Working Group (TWG) & Seascape Technical Working Group (TWG), based in Manado, North Sulawesi, Indonesia.

The position will support the effective implementation of MPA and transboundary seascape work under RPOA 2.0, including technical documentation, coordination, meeting support, knowledge products, and follow-up of agreed actions.

Key responsibilities include:
🌊 Supporting technical documents, reports, SOPs and knowledge products
🤝 Coordinating with TWG focal points, partners and member countries
📋 Supporting meetings, workshops and regional exchanges
📊 Maintaining workplans, monitoring matrices and action records
📁 Providing administrative and logistical support for TWG activities

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in marine science, environmental management or a related field
• At least 2 years of experience in project coordination, technical writing or stakeholder engagement
• Familiarity with marine governance, MPAs or seascape approaches is an advantage
• Strong English communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment

📅 Application deadline: 5 October 2026
📍 Duty station: Manado, North Sulawesi, Indonesia
🗓️ Duration: 12 months, renewable based on performance and programme needs

The Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries, and Food Security (CTI-CFF) Regional Secretariat participated virtually in the 12th Regional Dialogue on Biodiversity Finance for Latin America and the Caribbean, held 1–3 September 2026 in Quito, Ecuador.

As part of the dialogue, Ms. Reita M Kalalo, Finance and Operations Manager of the CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat, shared insights from the Coral Triangle on “Methodological Adaptation for Multijurisdictional and Transboundary Finance Solutions.”

The presentation shared perspectives from the Coral Triangle region on adapting biodiversity finance methodologies to the realities of shared ecosystems, multiple jurisdictions, and transboundary conservation priorities. It also contributed to broader discussions on addressing biodiversity financing gaps and developing innovative finance solutions that can support conservation and sustainable development.

The dialogue provided a valuable platform to share CTI-CFF’s experience and work in advancing sustainable financing for the Coral Triangle, while strengthening knowledge exchange and collaboration with partners and stakeholders working on biodiversity finance globally.

Moving forward, CTI-CFF remains committed to strengthening partnerships, sharing regional solutions, and advancing innovative finance approaches that can turn biodiversity commitments into meaningful action for the Coral Triangle and beyond. Together, we can mobilize the resources needed to secure healthy ecosystems, resilient communities, and a sustainable future.

The CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat, represented by Ms. Reita Kalalo, Finance and Operations Manager, participated in the 4th ASEAN Blue Economy Forum, held on 24–25 August 2026 in Manila, Philippines. The Forum brought together regional stakeholders to advance the ASEAN Blue Economy Implementation Plan 2026–2030, with discussions focusing on sustainable financing, natural capital, ecosystem resilience and inclusive blue economy development.

For CTI-CFF, the Forum provided an opportunity to strengthen connections between the ASEAN Blue Economy agenda and RPOA 2.0 and the FRWG Workplan 2026–2027, particularly in sustainable financing, climate resilience, sustainable fisheries, community livelihoods and investment readiness. It also opened pathways for further engagement with ASEAN, ADB and other partners to advance shared regional priorities.

Through continued collaboration, we can translate shared commitments into meaningful action for the Coral Triangle and beyond. 🌊

From 24–28 August 2026, the CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat was represented by Christovel Rotinsulu, Deputy Executive Director for Program Services, and Corzzierah Posala, Technical Program Manager, at the Coral Triangle & Pacific Islands MPA Enforcement (MCS) Learning Exchange in Puerto Princesa, Palawan, Philippines.

The five-day exchange brought together practitioners from across the region to share experiences, strengthen monitoring and compliance approaches, and advance regional cooperation for more effective MPA management and enforcement.

The CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat is grateful to the organisers and participating countries for fostering knowledge exchange and collaboration towards stronger marine protection across our region.
