𝗥𝗼́𝘇𝗮 𝗘𝗹 𝗛𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝗞𝗼𝗵𝘁𝗮 𝗞𝘂𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲

There are only a few days left to experience Róza El-Hassan’s solo exhibition at Kohta Kunsthalle in Helsinki.

Bringing together sculpture, drawing, and installation, the exhibition reflects El-Hassan’s long-standing interest in interconnectedness, care, and the ethics of coexistence. Throughout her practice, art becomes a space for empathy, vulnerability, and collective imagination.

Across decades, El-Hassan has developed a singular artistic language that navigates questions of memory, migration, ecology, and social relations, proposing forms of solidarity in uncertain times.

If you are in Helsinki, don’t miss the chance to see this beautiful exhibition.

For its fifth edition, Basel Social Club transforms a vacant multi storey office building designed by Diener & Diener, just minutes from Basel SBB train station, into a temporary social stage for art. Under this year’s theme, Office, the workplace becomes a site of artistic production, encounter, fiction, and exchange.

From painting to sculpture, fiction to digital mythology, our presentation brings together four distinctive artistic voices that continue to shape our programme and conversations.

Come visit us. We can’t wait to meet you there.

OMARA never separated image from language. Her paintings speak, argue, joke, protest, and confess. They demand to be read as much as they demand to be seen.

Created during the final years of her life, this work belongs to a remarkable group of paper pieces in which OMARA transformed everyday observations into sharp social commentary. Funny, uncomfortable, fearless, and deeply human, these works remain as direct today as when they were made.

We are thrilled to share that Éva Szombat has been selected for La Nuit de l’Année – Le Best Of at the legendary Les Rencontres d’Arles 2026, one of the world’s most influential photography festivals.

Presented throughout the summer in Arles, the exhibition brings together outstanding projects selected from previous editions of the festival.

Éva Szombat’s work Shooting Star from the series Drain Me, And I’ll Burn The Bridges Between Us (2024) will be featured alongside a special video project.

For us, this is a particularly joyful moment. Éva’s work continues to travel across borders, connecting deeply personal stories with broader questions of intimacy, identity, self image, and contemporary life.

Huge congratulations to Éva and heartfelt thanks to everyone involved.

Special thanks to and 🙌

Following the acclaimed institutional exhibition at the East Slovak Gallery in Košice, OMARA now arrives at Longtermhandstand with the first exhibition in the gallery’s history to occupy the entire building with the work of a single artist. Curated by Peter Bencze

Bringing together key works spanning the full arc of her practice, the exhibition unfolds across both floors through paintings, text works, self portraits, political works, and her iconic miniature paintings created on found cardboard and matchboxes.

Beginning to paint at the age of forty three without formal training, OMARA transformed memories, illness, motherhood, poverty, desire, humour, and survival into a radically personal visual language unlike any other.

The show is accompanied by a deep dive text by the mega Sonja Teszler.

The exhibition title originates from a real question OMARA once asked live on a radio programme about dream interpretation:

“Once they were talking about dream interpretation in the radio. I called in and asked how it was possible that the things I dream about always come true.”

She did not simply document reality.
She painted herself into another one.
