Look up, Budapest!
Yes, at Absolute Tours we run a Christmas Walk, too, and here should be posted a photo of a mouthwatering chimney cake, but hey, everybody just wants to sell, sell, sell! Buy this, buy that at the Christams Markets, at the souvenir shops, at the wine bars, at the restaurants... suffocating, isn't it?
We want to give. Give you an inspiration how to disconnect from the hysteria of seeing everything. We believe that a traveling should GIVE something to explorers that they can take home and SHARE with family, friends, colleagues ANYTIME. This is called EXPERIENCE. That you can pay for, search for or just run into one.
Yes, at Absolute Tours we create experiences but now we want to make the magic happen, so our followers would just 'bump into' one during their festive days in Budapest :).
Read this hearty article about a local favorit, the mini statues of Hungaro-Ukrainian sculpture, Kolodko, and explore the city through his eye, through his artwork as they are really everywhere!
The Mini Statues of Budapest - Travelmag Around five years ago, mini statues began appearing around Budapest, adding a new dimension to the UNESCO World Heritage Site for those with a keen eye. On the banks of the Danube River in Budapest sits a military tank pointed directly at the world-famous parliament building. It’s of little threat...

In need of a special yet not mass-souvenir for an affordable price from your holiday in Budapest, 🇭🇺 Hungary? Get a Nógrádi Ropogós salty sticks to taste the essence of socialist economy at the same time!
👉 A product of Yugoslavian origin introduced in Hungary in the early 70ies within the socialis commodity exchange programme. 🤝
👉 Three manufactories were opened around Hungary to produce and distribute the salty sticks to the consumers. 👨👩👧👦
👉 Production and management under state control, yet in the manufactory in Nógrád an overestimated budget for the packaging resulted in huge and unexpected extra profit that was used to modernize the manufactory, distribution channels and the outlets. 💪💲
👉 The Nógrádi Ropogós has been the favorite salty stick in Hungary since the first day on sale! 👏
👉 They did not only manage to switch from communism to capitalism, but thanks to the dedicated management of the manufactories, only in Nógrád county is the production of salty sticks owned by a 💯% Hungarian company.
A small gift with big history! Available in grocery stores.

Strudel!
You can have it all around the Carpathian Basin and beyond, from France through Hungary to Bulgaria. But where is this sweet delight originally from? Why do so many countries share it in common? Is there any difference between an Austrian or a Slovakian strudel?
Spread-around Europe strudel started its culinary journey from the Habsburg Empire, more closely from the Austrian and German cuisine. The oldest strudel recipes are from 1696, in a handwritten cookbook which is in one of Vienna's libraries. Although almost everywhere called under nearly the same loanword, Strudel , in Hungarian, strangely enough - or not? 🤩 - we say RÉTES!
