A new article from Ireland’s Further Education sector explores how accessibility, inclusion and AI intersect in practice and why some of the most meaningful innovations have nothing to do with new technology.

From dyslexia assessment and AI-in-assessment guidelines to Universal Design for Learning, examples from Irish Further Education centres show how rethinking who does the work, who sets the rules and who gets supported can make education more accessible.

At the heart of the article is a question that matters across Europe:

How do we make sure no one is left behind in the digital transformation of education?

This is also at the core of our project Ai4vet4ai putting educators and learners at the centre of the conversation about AI and the future of vocational education.

Today, on the International Day of Older Persons, we are reminded that road safety is also about creating streets, transport systems and communities where older people can move safely, confidently and independently.

As we age, changes in mobility, vision, hearing or reaction time can affect how we experience traffic, but safety should not depend on adapting people to unsafe environments. Our roads and transport systems should be designed with everyone in mind.

A strong traffic safety culture means looking beyond individual behaviour and asking how our infrastructure, policies, organisations and communities can make safer choices easier for all.

From safer pedestrian crossings and accessible public transport to better-designed streets and more considerate driving, every part of the transport system has a role to play.

Because safe mobility is a shared responsibility, and everyone deserves to feel safe on the road.

✨ A few weeks ago, we took Algebra LAB to Graz! 🇦🇹

We joined the 𝗖𝗼𝗩𝗘 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, bringing together people from vocational education, higher education, industry, public institutions and European projects to explore one big question:

🤖 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗜 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁, 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲-𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆?

As project coordinators of Ai4vet4ai, we had plenty to share, discuss and explore!

💡 We led 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗜 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰, a hands-on workshop where participants tackled real challenges from vocational education and explored where AI could actually help.

🎤 We also presented 𝗔𝗜𝟰𝗩𝗘𝗧𝟰𝗔𝗜 at the Vocational Excellence Exhibition, showcasing our MOOCs and learning resources and talking about how AI skills can become part of everyday learning and teaching.

🤝 And, of course, there was plenty of networking, idea-sharing and new connections with fellow CoVEs and European projects.

One thing became clear: 𝗔𝗜 𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀. It's about 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀, 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀, 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿.

At Algebra LAB, we strengthen the power of cooperation every day through European projects that we develop and implement with partners across Europe and beyond.

These projects bring together institutions, companies and NGOs, as well as researchers, educators other experts and young people from different countries and cultures, to exchange knowledge, create new solutions and contribute to science, social development and shared progress.

That is why cooperation is so much more than achieving project goals. Through working together, meeting in person and discovering other cultures, we learn to understand different perspectives and build respect, tolerance and trust.

This week, we’re in 𝗖ó𝗿𝗱𝗼𝗯𝗮, 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻 🇪🇸, kicking off KIDDIN and exploring how promising digital health innovations can move beyond prototypes and become solutions that truly support 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻, 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀. 👧🧒🩺

From AI-supported infection detection and neurodevelopmental screening to smart textiles, neurological monitoring and technologies supporting medical imaging and surgery – there’s a lot happening in KIDDIN.
