‘Falcons secure 13 of 30 spots in Guyana’s national team selection’

The ultimate bragging rights for any local sport franchise must be having a majority of their club athletes earning selection to represent their country. The Guyana police falcons rugby club recently demonstrated exactly that, securing an impressive 13 out of 30 spots on Guyana’s national rugby team selected to play Bermuda. While the match ended 9-5 in Bermuda’s favor, the Falcons’ remarkable representation on the national team tells a powerful story of hard work and dedication.

The players selected were: Cpl Shawn David, Cpl Odida Douglas, Cpl Marlon Small, Lcpl Devon Charles, Michael Barrow, Godfrey Broomes (national vice captain), Lionel Holder, James Osborne, Owen Adonis, Makayah Smith, Kelvin Grant, Rickford Cummings (absent from photo) and Cpl Adrian Hall (absent from photo).

The national rugby team will now turn its focus to June 6th where they are slated to take on Barbados in Barbados.

Falcons return to rugby test match action on saturday!

The Guyana Police falcons rugby team will feature in the opening fixture of the Guyana Rugby football union’s upcoming 15’s tournament on saturday in the Guyana national park.

With kickoff slated for 4pm, the match will mark GRFU’s return to local clubs test match action after a brief hiatus. The opening match will see the Guyana Police Falcons RC take on the Guyana Defence Force RC in a clash of the armed forces.

The falcons are looking to continue their run of dominance after playing undefeated for the entire season in 2025, wear your red and blue in support of the police falcons ruggers.
