Philos — a name with a soul

The name Philos springs from the ancient Greek verb φιλέω, born of the word φίλος — friend, beloved, kindred spirit.

In the time of Homer, it meant to welcome with warmth, to host with grace, to receive a guest as one would a friend.

As centuries passed, it came to mean to love, to cherish, to find joy in.

With that spirit in our hearts, we created Philos Athens —

a home for lovers of all things beautiful: lovers of art, of music, of ideas, of life itself.

a place where souls meet, where conversations flow, where strangers become friends under one welcoming roof.
