🌿 Exploring the E-Locum - Local Compacts of the United Mates of Europe Project Partners 🌿
Starting from today, we begin our exploration of the mission and activities of our project partners, starting with our Greek collaborator, Anemos Ananeosis - Wind of Renewal SSocial CooperativesFounded in Athens in 2014, Anemos Ananeosis is a social cooperative enterprise initiated by environmentally and socially active citizens. Their core focus revolves around promoting social and green innovation, sustainable tourism, climate protection, energy transition, and environmental awareness within Greece and Europe.
Furthermore, the cooperative is dedicated to fostering intercultural dialogue and supporting refugees by providing safe accommodation and facilitating social inclusion. Their flagship project, the , exemplifies their commitment to innovation and inclusivity, offering a welcoming space for diverse travelers.

At Welcommon Hostel you will find art everywhere, on the walls of the corridors, on the floors, in the classrooms, in the rooms. They are works – memories of artists, volunteers, refugees, visitors. The Welcommon Hostel is open to different travelers (responsible tourists, volunteers, migrants, refugees, nomads, groups with social, cultural and environmental interests). It was created and is operated by the social cooperative enterprise Anemos Anenoisos / Wind of Renewal, which aims at the public good. It does not distribute profits, it doesnot belong to a big copmany. It creates jobs for young men and women with less opportunities, it is a center of green and social innovation. Its aim is the promotion of sustainable tourism, the green and social economy and innovation, the protection of the climate and the environment, the social inclusion and the dialogue of cultures. WELCOMMON Hostel means welcome in common – together. It is not only an opportunity to stay in a good place in the Greek capital; it is also a way to: • enjoy your stay in the city, • discover its social, cultural and environmental side, • exchange experiences and ideas, • learn and “share”, support communities. You can also participate in activities like nature' escape, music events, board games, language nights. The Welcommon Hostel is an innovative, inclusive, sustainable model of tourism, run by a social cooperative, open to all the different kinds of travellers (tourists, erasmus, volunteers, nomads, migrants, refugees). At the same time we care about envorinment, the hostel is based on a reuse and upcycling approach, we try to be zero waste and solar. We have installed solar panels for producing hot water. We have succeed in reducing 56% of energy consumption.
You can be part of our community. We organize art exhibits, non-formal education, lessons, music events, visits to cultural sites and activities open to all, but you can also organize something yourself (e.g. a concert, painting classes or even give a speech!)." It is an extraordinary experience, something different.

Today we received this message: "Good morning. This is D. M. In 2022 I worked with you guys a lot to house some people who were in danger or bad situations. I don't know if I ever thanked you enough for what you did for those families and individuals. Your Welcommon Hostel quite literally might have saved lives. So thank you for being so generous and open"

Our innovative and inclusive welcomes all the different kinds of without discrimination. During Covid-19, we hosted many people in need.

Our moto is "Sleep in Welcommon Hostel for dreaming, be active for social, cultutal and green issues".

A total of 87 newborn and babies are hosted in our innoveted hostel.

We are very happy we have contributed in saving lives, support people to restart their life. Maybe it is the only hostel with such a story, combining sustainable tourism with social impact.
