🇭🇰Classic Hong Kong breakfast that I drool thinking about

Tried a different format this time hehehe I was super inspired by the menus in these classic 茶餐廳s I wanted to incorporate the vibes they carry into my painting!

Honestly I think a HK breakfast is in the top 5 breakfasts for me …. Have you tried and do you agree?? 😙

Started the day at - and this dish ended up being one of my favorite dishes this trip!

🍳 This had 2 fried eggs on top of “Perek” phyllo which was toasted and drizzled with olive oil and zaatar, crumbled pistachios and crispy feta cheese- the saltiness was divine and it really hit the spot in the morning hustle of the city

Loving the mix of traditional Greek flavours with a modern twist!

We snagged a window bar seat without a res which we got really lucky hehe~ this spot has a keys 🔑❤️

The whole atmosphere of is really cool- like a marketplace with curated and high quality items- the hotel itself looks so sleek argh 😍

Painted this on a live stream the other night and chatted with you guys as I painted 🥰

Dumplings for lunch- Fried or steamed? 🥟

A quick stop for lunch with at a fave spot in Paris- the interior is always such a vibe and it’s packed for a reason

We ordered fried and steamed to share and that was a good shout heheh ✨

Painted this in 30 mins, as we were both running to an appointment after and it I think the painting encapsulates the quickness of our meal and the area too hehe

Pineapple buns 菠蘿包 is a Hong Kong staple 🇭🇰

It has a short cookie crust on top, slightly crunchy and sweet, then a soft fluffy milk bread at the bottom ~ and if you order the one with butter in there oh my god you will have the best bite ever ( no there’s no pineapple)

I love the cold bite of butter with the slightly warm bun - it’s salty and sweet and the textures are just so amazing 🤩

It’s a local favorite and everyone has their fave spots - this cafe is popular for a reason as well as my other fave Sai kung cafe & bakery does the best pineapple buns imo 😚❣️

A bev is always a good idea - I gravitate towards an ice lemon tea ( less ice, no sugar) or a HK style milk tea 🤎🤝🏼

Usually you’d sit down and finish this quickly at a 茶餐廳 but I went at a quieter hour when it was less busy and the staff ladies were so sweet and chatted with me as well as another customer who was eating on another table struck up a short convo with me 🥹

🇭🇰it’s the little things like this where we remember that life isn’t too serious and human connection is warmth especially in such a bustling city like HK
