Exodus Fishing

STRIKE! Start to finish on a 232kg beast!

Some footage of a windy and wavy day which delivered us a giant!

Exodus & Stefan teamwork on this one 🤝🏼

🚨 Scientific research - viewer discretion advised 🚨

This is the stomach of a 167kg tuna we caught during the tuna season. You can see how it swallowed the live mackerel we had on the hook whole! It also had a taste for squid, and we found one in the stomach contents!

Each year we supply cuttings from the tail of the tuna and sometimes stomachs to local researchers undertaking their own studies into the migration patterns of bluefin tuna!

That rope held up surprisingly well 😅

How about this for another angle of our viral strike? 😍

•

We’ve cut it short but this fish kept running for about 3 minutes straight! What a monster!

•

End game on a smaller fish 🐟

•

We started off the season with a small one this year, but it was perfect to feed friends and family! Here’s a video of how we brought it alongside.

Viewer discretion - how we fillet a giant bluefin tuna!

•

This technique takes years to master before you can extract a whole loin straight from the tuna, down to the bone! Anyone who tells you this is easy, is lying.

Best sashimi in the world 🍣

•

This is why we always have a line at 85 metres!

•

Some footage of a curious strike we had this year. The tuna ate the bait at a depth of 85 metres and then probably swam straight up towards us, giving us very little time to react. In these situations you need to make sure you react quickly and set the hook well!

Marked as always by our Axiom Pro 2

Tail rope, bleed, head back towards land 🐟

•

Fun fact: that land mass you see in the background is Morocco! We fish in the Strait of Gibraltar, right where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean 🌊

A different perspective of our viral strike 👀

•

The initial disbelief, the excitement and then locking in! That’s tuna fishing at its best!
