Sampson faced at an early age instability and hardship after his parents separated, resulting in the loss of contact with both his father and his mother. He was placed under the care of his uncle, a fisherman in Abuta, where he and his sister lived under very difficult conditions.
They lived in a mud house, sleeping on a mat in a room with weak walls and a leaking roof, which became especially challenging during the rainy season. The environment exposed him to numerous health risks, including mosquito infestations and poor sanitation.
At age 12, Sampson was rescued by Challenging Heights marking the beginning of his journey from exploitation back to hope. Read the full story of Sampson’s resilience and rescue on our website: [https://challengingheights.org/stories-of-change/rescued-from-the-waters-sampsons-journey-to-hope/]

A team that meets together, builds together. 💼✨
Halfway through the year, it’s time to look back at how far we’ve come and look ahead to where we are going! 🚀
These are a few highlights from our recent midyear Management Board meeting. The session was all about evaluating our progress, assessing our impact on the ground, and mapping out strategic plans for the remaining part of the year.
We are stepping into the next half of the year with renewed energy and a solid plan! 💪🏿📊

Environmental degradation promotes child trafficking. Disasters like flooding erase homes and safety in an instant, creating the exact vulnerability traffickers exploit.
But floods don’t just come, human activities contribute immensely. Act today, break the chain! Stop plastic pollution, deforestation, and all forms of environmental pollution.
Environmental justice is child protection. 🌊🌿
"Imagine thinking you are traveling to build a better future for your family, only to end up forced into modern slavery..." 💔
The reality of human trafficking across borders is more traumatic than many realize. With over 91,000 victims of modern slavery estimated in Ghana alone, the situation is becoming increasingly dire. Traffickers exploit the desperate desire of individuals to lift their mothers, sisters, and siblings out of poverty, turning their dreams into nightmares.
We cannot remain silent. This July, help us amplify the message, protect the vulnerable, and support the rescue and rehabilitation of survivors.
